This video is Rated “E” 😂

ОтветитьOne of my early jobs was with a small rewinding company, I too had not seen one of these in many years. Couple of things, I recall that we used to test for similar AC voltage across adjacent communtator segments using an AC voltmeter. I do not recall using the probes to test for short circuits to ground, but then I was working in the UK back then and 240v was even less of a joke than 120v!!! For that we would use a "Megger" (a hand cranked high voltage insulation tester)
I didn’t have a clue what it was but very useful tool
ОтветитьMy wife’s growler needs an overhaul hers was manufactured in 1966.
ОтветитьThe E stands for aliEns.
Ответитьmakes me wonder if people still know where does the xfiles theme come from..
Ответить
Ответитьif you use a 15 watt bulb it would be safer also if the two probes touch together all it does is light the 15 watt bulb the higher watt bulb the more current just use common sense safety
ОтветитьI think I'd build a non conductive holder to secure the probes while not in use.
ОтветитьGreat video! You could add some resistors to the continuity tester inside the box to drastically reduce the current to a safe level and use a relay for the light if you want to keep the original style of bulb. I don't know what the safe level of current is, but you don't need more than a few milliamps.
No one will see it and it will be safe to use.
Holy crap, I would not trust that on/off switch. It looks like there is nothing preventing the contacts from shorting to the case and shocking you?
ОтветитьSo basically an industrial vibrator.
ОтветитьIt's called a growler 😂😂😂
Ответить50 years ago I worked in a shop that did automotive speedometer and electrical work, including rebuilding starters and generators. We had a growler mounted on a bench next to where we made up speedometer cables. That growler got used every day.
ОтветитьSubscribed just because of the intro? Hilariously 90s
ОтветитьVery good content. I loved it. Thank you..
ОтветитьLots of growlers back in the 80s nudie mags too....
ОтветитьThose probes need big cone collars like they give pets.
ОтветитьI've never seen anyone shrinking shrink tube with a propane torch lol😂
ОтветитьInstead of spreading up the camera I’d rather here yah talk about what ur doing and how each part in what your doing that makes this work . I love the vids tho but lol I like hearing about what your doing an how to do what ur doing instead of just watching
ОтветитьLook that... 🔺🔺 E🔺🔺😱😱
ОтветитьE
ОтветитьAre those "E"s not just maker's marks? What's the big mystery? (Not that it wasn't a funny bit ☺)
ОтветитьE
ОтветитьI'm sad to see you are likely using the wrong screwdriver. Modern flatheads (screws and screwdrivers) are V shaped. That means they are wider at the top than the bottom. However, old-timey screws are parallel. If you use a modern screwdriver to screw those, the slot will wear out. And look ugly. There are special screwdrivers for that.
ОтветитьБольшое спасибо за это замечательное видео! Давно его искал. Можете ли Вы показать схему подключения более подробно?
ОтветитьE .e .e .e!
ОтветитьI wonder if he knows what a Growler is slang for.
ОтветитьEvery time I saw the "E" I could only think about the Markiplier E meme
ОтветитьI have heard about growlers and have even seen a few but have never seen one in use or knew how they work. Thank you so much for this video and explaining how they work in terms that are able to be understood.
ОтветитьWow that brought back memorys I'm a retired Electro Mechanical Engineer and used one of those at least a couple of times a week when i used to rebuild almond Winding Machines and other Winding Coil Winding machines Nice Job , love your Videos your a old School Like Me When things were made to last and be repaired Great channel
ОтветитьI would love to see what ElectroBOOM would do with that. Next Sub milestone possibly?
ОтветитьI'm sorry but something called a growler is always going to bring out he giggling 9 year old in me. We called something else totally different a growler where I'm from.
ОтветитьI happened across your channel a few months back. I absolutely love your wit and humor! I've watched this video several times just to laugh at the xfile E music.
E = extraterrestrial lol. Quirky to the max!
E was here.
ОтветитьI love your videos! Great and informative!
ОтветитьOh goody, now all you need is a charged capacitator on a table lol.
ОтветитьWait… your first move was to just cut the supply wires? WTF? You just butcher stuff in the disassembly which makes more work for you in the restoration.
However, maybe that is the point… you just hack stuff apart so you can then look like an artist when you “restore” it.
On this one maybe you should have taken a sledge hammer to the outer case and then you could have shown us your welding and body filler skills!
I think you are doing something special for arthritis suffer ers everywhere.
ОтветитьYou could probably cast some silicone caps for those hot sticks along with a good double pole single throw switch.
