BMW - 5 Series (E39) - Video Handbook (2000)

The E39 in my opinion is the best looking and timeless 5 Series ever built by BMW. The built quality is top notch and second to now. It's amazing how 20+ years car still turn heads anytime a well kept one passes by. It's indeed a masterpiece and deserves a top podium position in the BMW hall of fame.

Recently bought an 03 E39 530i manual with only 105k miles leather n wood interior still intact, car was a work of art truly timeless.

Ive got a candy perfect 2002 525d m57, Toledo blue. I maintain to perfection, I drive it long distances. 2002 is my year too!

BMW took over from where Peugeot 504 left off. The Peugeot was tougher, simpler but less powerful and slower.

Own a 1999 M sport auto 528i. 198000. Drives and looks like new. Everything works and stunning looking car. Best car I have ever owned, and I bought it in 2015. I love walking back to it when parked just so I get a good look. Never realised how all these buttons worked. Just amazing.

I have a 1999 bmw 528i absolutely love it 250,000+ miles still going strong through Minnesota winters

Sadly BMW Mercedes and the rest of german car manufacturers stopped progressing on car technology and focused on marketing exterior/interior design and flashy screens 🥲 last useful technology i remember that germans provided was the keep lane assist and blind spot monitoring (that was in 2009!) After that no real progress!

that feel when the premium audio presets are called "concert hall" "jazz club" and "church"

the sport steering wheel is cluttered with buttons, I'd say not very well thought out

I had and still have (for parts) a 1999 530D for 20 years. I am 65 living in Holland, could not pay the roadtax anymore a € 189 per month !. And diesel now more expensive as patrol. So , I bought a 12/97 528i , total km's car 480K, 2nd engine done now 290K. A bought my second love for only € 1000. My pension job ?, from 2 cars making one of the best E39 driving around. Sofar € 600 went into her, no sweat at all.

That key feature at the beginning sounds good in theory but it broke in mine and I was stranded because the ignition wouldn’t recognize the key

I just got 1, although I've been wanting the Z4 for the longest time. In the end I'm so in love with my e39, that I'm no longer interested in the z4. I've never been in love with a car this much. I'm going to enjoy it for many years to come!

The E39 its the last true 5 series It was One the ultimate driving machines in BMW's line up in the late 90s and early 2000s (its my Dream car)

I Just bought a 2002 525iT 5 speed in topaz blue. I’m so excited

The lock and wind windows up function is available in my own remote, also one tap of the unlock button unlocks all my doors as against the drivers door first

Thank goodness Chris Bangle had nothing to do with the design of this car. He would surely have ruined the most beautiful BMW ever designed. Why BMW ever hired this clown is beyond me!

You can set a code when you switch it off so that when it's next started you need to input the code before firing up the engine. That is so Bond 😃

Just bought my 97 528 for a steal. The leather and wood are still immaculate and the engine is virtually silent. What a beast.

Simply the best at 21 now.
