divine blessing hate is so dumb, it's like those mfs on darksouls that say you can't use like 80% of the weapons or it doesn't count, like bro just stfu

yeah the elite in this game are just ridiculous,,, ok the game skill roof is rly hight, but the game is rly not hard at allwhen you play it as instended , its meant to be played in many ways, you wanna an hard experience? sure, go ahead play wihtout traps and gadget and palicos ...... You just wanna play the game as it is intended? then go ahead bring you'"r palicos, farm for traps and stuff,use any skill you want and just destroy anything^^

Asmongold first tried Nergigante without even fully utilizing his weapon's moveset? Damn I never knew greatsword was that easy, you really can just slap stuff with basic uncharged attacks and win. I used longsword and failed the whole quest twice before I defeated him, he carted me a total of 8 times (granted I had been using insect glaive for the whole game and only recently started trying out the longsword when I fought nerg)

The iceborne expansion should have left base game how it was, only clutch in ib, the clagger s changed base game, base was a masterpiece, it makes the base game so easy, being able to tenderize and clagger openings

Regarding the Super dive, can a Lance & Shield withstand it (in guarded stance of course)?

This commentary was great. The veteran hunter watching a newcomer POV while laughing slightly at his mistakes but without being elitist about it AND providing tips on how that situation could have been handled was perfect.

rofl yeah from what I have seen his chat is 70% people that think they can guess what is going on and give horrible advice to either troll him or just to try to get lucky and be right. 25% of his chat are people that played the game and quit after beating the title bosses, know a bit about armor but give him recommendations based on armor they liked using instead of what is actually meta or even near a good for his weapon. So many times I saw him looking at armor after killing a new boss, and a bunch of people in chat are like "that armor skill and set is so awesome, it's totally the best." and it's basically garbage for GS and for the way Asmond plays(like some dudes trying to get him to stack KO for GS....and Asmond didn't even know about tackle then either). or he will look at a new GS and those 75% that know nothing about the game will get all loud talking about how awesome it is based on looks. About 5% of his chat actually know what they are talking about when it comes to builds, weapon use and how the monsters behave, but most of the time they are drowned out. luckily as he has played more and more it seems more knowledgeable players are joining his chat and actually getting through in chat some times, maybe more like 1/3 of the chat is giving good advice now.

I swear his chat is 1/3 trying to actually help, 1/3 giving bad info to troll, and 1/3 not knowing anything but wanting to be part of the conversation.

Hey y’all my HR is 45 and my armors are maxed at 74 - 80 defense at level 11 I’ve seen people with armor upgrades to lv 20 do I need go get Iceborne to progress my gear lv? Or increase my HR to get higher upgrades?

I've been playing mh for many many years and having some defensive perks is never a bad idea. Health boost is amazing in this game, and divine is pretty good in my opinion. Both of those are cheap too. This game is hard, and you need counter some mechanics. You are to counter some of these mechanics (sadly, i am not used to doing that). I am learning tho

you can block it even without guard up because I'm a gunlanmce user and you will take damage but that is ok for me

remember hunters DON'T TRY TO CUT NERGI'S TAIL when you are not expirienced, nergi has most tough tail (not including bigger monsters like fatalis or shara) of all monsters and very hard to hit it(nergi likes to fight you FACE TO FACE), just because of it its not worth to cut tail. you can chenge my mind but it will be hard, i was a noob who didnt learn from his mistakes

That's why the Charge Blade is superior, it has a pity shockwave for when you're just a little short of the perfect Super Elemental Discharge, and still very satisfying breaks when you're spot on. Watching NERD-gigante reel as his horn flies off to the big face bash is great.
Also, I think you can block that attack. It's surprising how much you can block. Diablos is a joke once your realize.
Also also, you're right about going cocky. Shot and Anjanath out of its jump with a charge dragonpiercer while learning bow. They do a little backflip when they fall, it's pretty neat.
And Exploit Weakness is +10/15/30% affinity to weak points, +5/15/20% Affinity to wounded parts. I know that 'softening' a part can turn it into what is considered a 'weak point' by increasing the zone value, but I'm not sure if being 'softened' constitutes being wounded. I'm fairly certain 'broken' parts count as wounded though. So it's up to 50% affinity for level 3, which if you're using the clutch claw effectively means 'the part you softened'.

Tail chopping is great and all, but there's nothing quite as satisfying as breaking Nergigante's or Black Diablos's horns.

One thing I have to mention regarding the positioning in Monster Hunter. Years before playing it I played a lot of soulslike games and because of that I had no problem whatsoever in dodging stuff. I don't watch asmongold by myself but he also plays a lot of games with those mechanics. I wouldn't say that monster hunter is easier but it is definitely way easier if you played sort of soulslike games in the past.

People sleep on guard so much, yeah, it cost sharpness, So what? You are sharpening in the fight regardless.

The foresight to read an attack and think I need to guard, is skillful, as someone who leans heavy into the tackle, it does not save you everytime, you still get hit, if its a status you're getting burned, if it's an aoe you're getting blasted after.

I would personally like to see them change the kick after guarding to booting the GS outward like a stronger side swipe, because side swipe is not that useful and I think having more stun utility after guarding could be cool.

I'm certain his situational awareness came from Elden Ring/Dark Souls. It was the easiest part of the game for me to pick up as a Souls vet.

That's the same thing ppl say about Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring, that "real" Dark Souls players don't use them. But it's in the game and helps open the game up to a wider audience than Dark Souls had, which is a great thing because the more ppl that buy and play it the more content is made.

you can guard the dive attack but you will need a few lvl's of guard and im not sure this would be enough for greatsword. im a charge blade main and i love guard pointing the dive had some nice kills by these guard point aswell always feels good 😅

What I wouldn’t give for you to review my hunts in rise or world there’s probably so much I could learn from you that I miss

Hey Ruri, might be too much of an ask but can you work on a video regarding the RE(X) engine and what it potentially means for Monster Hunter?
Rise,DD2 and Wilds are made with it and since RE engine is forward/backwards compatible, i could imagine much easier ports for example from Rise to Wilds and much less developement needed in the long run. (Also all skeletons we've seen in the Wilds trailer where existent in Rise)

lot of these "Elitist Hunters" don't wanna people use Divine Blessing, they backseat people to just follow their "way", and despise any other builds, even tho this other builds may be more comfortable for some people

Too much of your advice is on DPS. Please refer back to your epic rant on people duping on using divine blessing. It's okay that people aren't wall banging, using arieal or playing what someone else considers optimal.

This rest of this comments are general statements and not aimed at @Rurikhan but for anyone else taking the time to read it.

1. Ariel isn't a play style for everyone.If you find it fun, have at it. It's why I'd never tell IG not to use the arieal portion even if it's not where the damage is.

2. I know ALOT of people love slops, but I hate them! I recommend people try then out first. If they like them or don't mind them, then they can impediment them into their playstyle. However if they don't like them. (I don't like feeling like I'm not in control when I'm playing and that's what happenes to DBs) Don't shane them for playing in a way you don't think is "optimal"

The goal is to have fun, not have optimal hunts.

I think Asmongold did great here. It's proof you don't need to play optimally to have fun and enjoy the hunt.

There's a small group of funny players who consider health boost to be a no skill crutch. Despite entire game past like midpoint of HR being clearly intentionally balanced with the idea that players will have maxed out health boost. Always cracks me up. The game provides people with so many tools and techniques that not using them just feels like skating uphill - kind of silly.
