Great vid Rob. Thanks
ОтветитьGot a chance to use the gx for a month. I can say the shifting is reaaaaalllly slow compare to the one im using now the xo. Also that gx rd got hit by a stone from my last ride then it stops working 😂.
ОтветитьThis is really good to know.
I have been away from the biking scene for the last 7 years, but I am currently researching bike companies for my next enduro bike, and piecing together parts I would like to have on the bike. I have noticed that there are so many new components, so many different component names, and finding this transmission thing has been all new to me, and to be honest, a little bit confusing. But I know the SRAM transmission is something I would like to have, as I see my new bike as something I don't really want to upgrade for the life of the bike, unless I have to.
The price difference between the GX and the XX transmission from SRAM is pretty significant, so its really good to know that the GX system performs just as good as the XX version. My enduro bike will be ridden 95% downhill, so weight in grams does not matter to me.
How has the longevity been?
Ответитьthey all are very expensive
ОтветитьSo going from a shimano deore derailleur with a chain and cassette that don’t match on my trek fuel exe this wireless GX drive train should feel incredible?
ОтветитьThanks so much for this video. This answers exactly my questions about the drive chain
ОтветитьIt is all BS - you get good shifting for a fraction of GX
ОтветитьProbably not the correct place to ask, but how should I upgrade my NS system?
ОтветитьHow would you compare the durability after the amount of miles you’ve put on them?
Is it better than the traditional AXS(non T-type)?
Thanks for comparing! But where can I get that cable for power supply on the ebike ???
ОтветитьShimano DEORE XT is the way to go for Performance.
And for Performance value Shimano SLX with a Deore XT Shifter.
😁
They’re all way too heavy compared to cable actuated.
I’m good don’t need a battery to shift
There is no rider in the world who would notice the difference between these systems in terms of weight; a bit like dura-ace vs ultegra from shimano... nobody should ever pay for the higher-end versions, the weight difference is irrelevant. Pro riders use them because they are free.
ОтветитьHow about the remotes that comes with the drivetrains. It looks like there is a difference there. Any observations on those in regards to qulity and feel ?
Asking because i just received my Canyon Spectral:ON CF 9 yesterday with the GX version on it.
LOL, SRAM
ОтветитьI wouldn't get and run SRAM even for free
ОтветитьHey Rob, great video! Another question: in the last picture you can see a cable connected to the GX rear derailleur. Is the rear derailleur already available for e-bikes without a battery? Thanks
ОтветитьOK. I'm convinced.
ОтветитьThe money saved on GX, better spent on wheel.
ОтветитьGear hubs are better!
ОтветитьHaha, EBIKES RULE. Barely caught that.
ОтветитьActually, the GX cassette will wear out very quickly on an e-bike. This should be pointed out that the real problem with the GX will be the cassette, so piece out the setup if you’re really pinching pennies, or go to the X0 for the premium cassette. 👍🏼
ОтветитьBrilliant consumer review. Well done Rob.
ОтветитьMarketing strategy! Cheaper is the same I have to buy this thing !
ОтветитьI don't own or ride an ebike but if I did it would have a Shimano XT Linkglide 11 speed drivetrain on it. No way in this lifetime would I pay the asking price for any of these SRAM units.... and I have the good ol' fashioned GX AXS on my bike, so I'm far from a hater. The price is simply obscene for this overhyped drivetrain.
ОтветитьNice, was thinking of getting timp peak fezzari with a GX Transmission
ОтветитьIsn’t the NX the lowest of the SRAMs?
ОтветитьThis is great marketing. They knew someone would compare these, and now the GX looks like a bargain but it is still 1125 pounds for some metal and electronics, it is very expensive! Great job SRAM marketing! Rob even describes the set as "a fraction of the costs of an XX transmission" lollol!
ОтветитьVery interesting video. I recently got the "old" SRAM GX AXS on my new Trek Fuel EXe. But my bike shop can't get it to adjust well. It either hangs in the high gears or in the low gears. What is the reason for this? Unfortunately, I don't know much about it.
ОтветитьBest video ever dude. You just saved me a ton of dough!
ОтветитьHow i wish to have a mtb 🥺❤️
Ответитьwell.... good luck, ONLY BIGGER AND MORE EXPENSIVE.... easy to destroy, so good for Sram, coz you need a new one soon....
ONLY XT/SLX M7000 / M8000 is a proper MTB rear mech. almost completely flush with a frame, hard to destroy, durable, cheap.
M735 FTW
ОтветитьSo your saying the NX transmission group set is the one to buy? Even over the GX ?
ОтветитьSRAM = SCAM 🤣
ОтветитьI'm a fat git... So 30 grams on the bike is nothing. I'm better off taking a 💩 before riding 😂
ОтветитьIf I had the frame, I would go for this GX, but man, my SLX 12S is so awesome, I can't even imagine something better than it
Ответитьstill that one driveterrain is more expensive than my entire bike 😭
ОтветитьI had same thoughts 2 months ago when I ordered custom DH bike - I put GX (DH version) on it, price jump to X0 was too much compared to performance/weight
ОтветитьNice review!
I'm not sure how accurate this is but I've heard beyond weight saving (specifically for chains), sram's hollow pin chains are significantly more wear resistance than their lower tier chains
(Other than the chain it really seems like a no brainier and go for GX)
Would love to see an 11 or even 10 speed version of the beefier transmission design for e-bikes. 12 speed seems like a waste and the chains break easier... but that derailleur looks strong!
ОтветитьXO crank arm is supposed to have a hole
ОтветитьThe GX rocks. It is not cheap. It is the best money I ever spent.
ОтветитьAnything below x01 axs shouldn’t exist. Keep the peasant out of reach
ОтветитьGood to see you using new canyon strive ^^
ОтветитьYou are comparing the Ebike cranks. The dub cranks are difference between X0 and GX. X0 have a cut out.
ОтветитьThe GX has less reinforcing in some areas. This indicates to me that is won't be a strong and hold up as well on tough rides. Also without knowing the difference in materials used hard to tell how that will affect the lifespan.
ОтветитьThose cost 100 to make, max
ОтветитьI'm starting to get very suspicious about mtb components and it's pricing .
The gx upgrade kit cost a little more than $600 and a wireless dropper post cost $800 and up .
Everyone should start questioning the industry everyone who's into mtb is getting ripped off
