Amazing video really helped me with mine I just bought, however, when you changed the screen off of camera from FM to AWM init preset at 16mins and the options on screen were completely different it took me an hour to figure out how to find the screen. you were on and therefore follow you. Thanks still for a great vid. Been following you since like 300 followers, or was it 3000, either way. good few years now.

can you edit a couple of elements at once? instead of editing all parameters separately? like with the filters and envelopes

Worse thing about this yamaha is that you don't have more outputs to send split sound out separately like you can do on korg triton, kronos and yamaha montage
Everything looks great until you come out on stage as musician who use split combo for bass + piano etc and suddenly you hear that system equalizer sounds different on various sound systems.

I was wondering can you record a full song on it or just clips to arpeggiate? I just picked one up and am struggling to get a feel for the controls, this video was very helpful thank you!

I'm learning about the: Yamaha MODX8+, Korg Nautilus and the Roland Fantom 08 - (all 88 key), all similarly priced.

I was starting to think this would be the machine for me, but no, it isn't. I don't do or need as much synth. I want good piano (acoustic and electric) and organ patches (with the ability to add key sensitivity to organ patches). 76 keys would be a huge plus over 61. Any tips on what to look for?

Why on earth does you tube keep putting guitar adverts in front of me when I'm watching a freakin keyboard vid? God they can be thick sometimes.

I bought one of these keyboards and all I can say is it is not user friendly. manual is incomplete and trying to find info out there on how to use it is unavailable. I have had it for 3 days and I cant even figure out how to get sound out of both left and right outputs, stuck in mono. looked all through the manual and watched video's, no luck. not even a trouble shooting section in manual.
I have a Korg keyboard and it is not even as complex as this thing. I'm going to have a chat with Yamaha and depending on how that goes... it might be going back and buy a korg nautilus.
it has really nice sound and options, but my biggest complaint is the lack of support from Yamaha.
don't even get me started with the copy of Cubase that comes with it. no instructions and your just on your own to figure it out, no support.

No onboard looping tool??? Why? Isn't that essential for this kind of keyboard? Terrible disappointment...

The Yamaha Reface DX had far more levels of feedback that could be controlled within each oscillator, with multiple for sawtooth feedback, multiple for square feedback, and one for no feedback. I understand that the FM-X module is mostly an improvement over the Reface DX, but my question is why they went back to only having one channel able to have feedback and the next closest thing only having 8 levels instead of all of what the Reface DX had.

I just recently upgraded from a MOXF6 to the MODX6. I was tempted to use the adjective “mind-blowing” for the depth, sound and complexity of the MODX6 at this price point, especially a gently used one, but I am saving that adjective for the depth, sound and complexity of your review/tutorials. Been long following you, but finally had to throw in my good word after this particular video. Even as an owner of a MOXF6 and MOX8, I was still perplexed by this machine. YOU are a so-called godsend!

I do not like that BLINKING AND COLOR CHANGING KNOB.... Can i set that knob to be steady and uni color???

is MODX suitable for playing classical music?

It is for sure great machine. However diving deep into menu to create 2 OSC saw lead or whatever frankly and turning the knob can be a mission.

What happened to the simplicity of the original motifs? Great sound, easy operation. A pity. I’ll stick with my Nord Stage 2 - nothing is farther than 2 buttons / knobs away … nevertheless, a great review.

Got a problem with the touch screen, the touch sensors dont position the finger position well, i may have to return it and its sad (solved)

Hello, great video. I have a question. Is it possible to add transpose option to assign 1 and 2, or maybe to add SHIFT option to pedal? This SHIFT holding is disaster when you play live with both hands

Excellent! I've gigged with the MODX for over a year and am just starting to really did in and do more programming. I just referred back to this video today, I still get a bit confused where things are with elements > parts > performance. In particular, the analog-style poly and lead patches that you can build are way better than the lousy stock patches in those categories.

I hear you talk about so many things this piano can do but you don't go into details about how to do those things. I thought I finally found a video that would cover how to adjust parameters and assign buttons and things like that, but I guess this is not that video. just have to figure it out on my own or keep looking for a video that will cover that.
