What makes this performance even more incredible is that Stell was only supposed to be an opening act and this "All By Myself" performance was unplanned, not part of the concert repertoire, and an impromptu challenge from David Foster. It's insane to think that he had already sung three high-pitched and vocally demanding songs, and to top it off, he's not in the best condition (he's sick). I had to mention, too, that a day prior to the concert, SB19 had intense performances at an event. And the elephant in the room—he's a man, hitting the piece in female key and doing it cleanly. Stell is a legend in the making!

This performance was never part of the plan. According to David's team, he likes to make some last-minute changes. Stell was meant to only front act David F's concert. Probably an hour before the concert, when it was his turn to do soundcheck, he went up stage and caught David F not leaving yet with his piano. As Stell turned his back on David so the latter could finish his thing, he suddenly called Stell and asked him does he have his in-ears on, then proceeded to ask if Stell could practise a song. Stell was shocked to know that it's All By Myself. They did a run through on the arrangement David made so Stell could be guided on what to do. It was just a run through, not an all-out performance yet, thus the usage of falsettos. After, David F asked Stell if the latter would like to sing the song. Shocked, Stell just responded, "If it's okay with you, sir."

And the rest is history.
