I simply love the entire idea of Superman and Clark changes that still lives from Reeve's, the dude left and he still was SUPERMAN, the moment his friend called him "Kent" his entire self changed from the Kryptonian God.

Restraint: when you know you have the power to crush the helpless ant that just attempted to bite you but instead you show understanding and give it something to eat and send it on its way.

People miss some of the subtlties of this. Most people noticed when he tried to shove Clark and pushed himself back. What people miss sometimes is when Clark slammed him onto the counter, he tried to, as would work with many people, immediately push himself back up. But he couldn't. His struggles weren't even MOVING CLARK'S HAND. THAT is when he got scared.

Love how Kyle stands up to hep and both Sarah and Lana hold him back like “No. No, really. Seriously. He’s got this on his own.” You can also see on their faces that both are also very concerned about how things are about to unfold.

Anyone notice the continuity error. When Clark says “Nope” to Lana he is facing the exit and walks toward the exit. But the very next angle he is facing the counter again which is in the opposite direction

'Clark Attacks Emmit' what? If that is an attack, then the bar for what constitutes an attack has gotten pretty low.

You do not want superman saying "I will come for you" with that tone of voice. Even super villains don't get that tone.

one thing I always think about scene's like this.... the "bad guy" could have easily have been written with a gun, and shot at Clarke.... obviously the bullet would just bounce off, but then everyone would see him being bulletproof...so its great to see witters not taking the easy option.

This scene was actually the first scene I watched of this show and it actually motivates me to watch the show. This show has absolutely perfect casting for Superman and the super family and this show does everything so well. The way Clark handles this man, defends his family without crossing the line and just letting him go is really quite admirable and good fitting his character so well.

The fact Clarke was so calm, not raising his voice even after slamming him to the table with little effort must have really frightened him. It certainly caught the attention of everyone else seeing the mild mannered Clark standing up for his fmily

The human side of Superman

Ok great scene, but I do hate it when they block a fight scene and his punch was going nowhere near its target.

The way he said "I will come for you."...that honestly scared me...

Clark confronts Emmitt, not attacks. Emmitt attacks first and Clark redirects his energy in the form of "counter meets face."

It was the look on Lana's face knowing the truth about him that changed. Normally he takes the punches and pushing down but this time he flexed just a little bit of who he really is without explicitly telling his secret. In that moment Clark was like I am the Alpha ( little Teen Wolf reference). But also displayed his humanity that makes him Clark Joseph Kent and not just Kal-El. Hes been struggling with Lois being sick and not being able to help her even though Kryptonians are scientifically advanced. Hes the most powerful person in the world and feels powerless against a human sickness But he's been bottling up his anger and rage and using every ounce of humanity that Johnathan and Martha taught him and struggling to stay in control of his emotions.
