Command is such an insanely helpful ability. Not just here, but in many instances it can turn the tide of battle.

I was able to get the flaming sword during EA but I could not get it during full release.

Killed him just thinking it was business as usual and got the most powerful sword (The Everburn Blade) that no other weapon has even come close to since then and I'm at 109 hours but still in Act 1 since I love exploring so I guess that's why. I love it and it goes so well with my Karlach. :D

Let's be honest, I haven't even played the game and can tell he's leaving out information. I play D&D however so this is why I KNOW he's leaving out info. If this game is anything accurate to D&D (and I'm assuming it very much is), I'm guessing once most people get the sword, you're not gonna be able to use UNLESS YOU HAVE A HIGH ENOUGH STR SCORE! It isn't even that good of a weapon. If you dip a great sword in fire. Bam. Literally the same thing.

Meh Everburn blade is fine but hardly the best weapon ever

Shadowheart has it. It's a 55% chance with two uses. So you're odds are good you'll get it that way but it's not certain. You do need to swap her prepared spells in the menu to have access.

You have ten rounds to get to the helm, so you can send either the weakest character or the character with the best ranged attacks to the helm, leaving everyone else to whale on the demon.

You can only do this if you are in a co-op squad. Playing solo you simply can't do it until his reinforcements arrive.

Just keep your distance and let him hit the mindflayer

If you take the chest from the room where you find the rune, and put it at the door before the boss, the addition adds can’t get in

I only just change that weapon for Evil Sting but could still use it now ^^;;;

You can also try to use the spell on him called "Command" and select the option to drop his weapon! Shadowheart can slot it if you don't have it yourself! Best of luck all :)

I just used command and made him drop his weapon and ran over to pick it up

My Mind Flasher took all the hiys from the commander and missed every. Good luck for me on the next try

back in ea he first didnt drop it... then the community wanted the weapon to drop and well larian did it

You can keep shoving him towards the console while beating him up. That way the 3 new spawns don't get to you in time. Should also keep your range close to the console so you can bail as soon as you get the sword

Just get a bunch of those purple bio explosive barrels (or as many as you can find), set them around the boss, wait for the mind flayer to beat Zhalk up, and as soon as his health is 70 and below, set the barrels on fire and finish him off, if necessary.

Shodow Heart have spell what you can use on him, to drop his weapon.

You MUST pick up the weapon with your custom character, not with your companions, or it won't be in your inventory

I think video game journalism is great for kids to get into. Actually writing about things of the industry. It seems fun and creative. I like Gamespot and IGN for picking a diverse cast of personalities.

Making it just green layout does the weapon a disservice. Granted there are plenty of better weapons but it remained useful even all the way through to Act 2.

Man i restarted a new character last night and he got perfect rolls and massacred the mind flayer in 3 turns and chased me down. Almost killed me before i got to the console. I didnt even think Fighting him was a viable option 😂
