I have come back to this channel and can't believe my arrogance.
Ответитьman this is fantastic, he's so damn good at this has anyone ever listened to a teacher like this? EVER? Hell I don't even listen to a director as I did with this class. I wonder if he ever really taught? It can be so much fun to teach.
ОтветитьHoly Cow...THIS is why so many modern actors and directors suck these days! They don't have the chops, the technique, or the discipline to make that magic that the old greats used to deliver
ОтветитьDon't split a scene three hours apart would be the easiest option?
ОтветитьI'm not interested in acting at all but that was fascinating...
ОтветитьWow
Ответитьimagine sharing a cigarette with fucking michael caine lmao
ОтветитьI love Peter Serafinowicz comedy stetch of Caine and other actors
Ответитьhe is very good.
ОтветитьGreat teacher, great actor, great human being
ОтветитьMy goodness, you didn't mention Celia Imrie! She's the lady in the Alfie & Deathtrap scenes. How can you forget her??
ОтветитьBet half of the students got private lessons by the end of the course.
ОтветитьThis is one of the most engaging interesting pieces of film ive watched all year. And that includes most if the movies ive watched at the cinema too.
ОтветитьThis was amazing.
ОтветитьAfter watching this i became a famous actor.
ОтветитьI find myself wondering if he's ever directed, because I haven't a clue
ОтветитьMichael Caine is an absolute legend. Peter Serafinowicz did a very funny recreation of this on his sketch show.
ОтветитьSmoking indoors AND sharing a cigarette. No health and safety back then 😂
ОтветитьVery strict great British actor
Ответить“Masterclass” is a term that gets thrown around a lot but this video warrants it - Caine embodies what it is to be a charismatic star.
ОтветитьRemember sausages look like cigars when on camera
ОтветитьWow!what a gem-such a master at the craft:))
ОтветитьNever took to him acting till he ,or I got older, but he got better with age. Harry brown was brilliant.
ОтветитьI'm not sure ppl really appreciate how great this man is.
ОтветитьMy heart goes out to the lad in the sketch with the older woman... Hes dealing with some pretty flimsy copy. And, he's got Michael caine giving his earhole a hard time.. He did a good job, considering its a 4th wall breaking monologue to camera. That mustve felt like getting roasted over coals...
ОтветитьI too remember this wonderful programme. Mr. Micklewhite himself is proof incarnate of talent and a craft studied well. 'Not many people know about this bit of telly.' Interesting to Celia Imre as one of the students, though hardly a novice.
ОтветитьI am Michael Caine. You are welcome.
ОтветитьBut there is also understanding what lens they're using. Brando used to ask the DP or director where the frame line was. Then he would know where to put the acting.
ОтветитьHe has one of the most iconic voices of all time
ОтветитьPeter Serafinowicz show sent me here
ОтветитьSo-called "Michael Caine" wasn't even his real name. Maurice Joseph Micklewhite obviously sold-out his birth moniker in the name of 'Hollywood' shallowness, deceit, & greed. The change was probably as the result of pressure from money-grubbing Agent(s) and or Studio(s), with preconceived notions of greater recognition and better financial gain?! The worst part was the disrespect of parents and family heritage.
ОтветитьThis was fantastic to watch! I wan more!
ОтветитьMichael Cain is not teaching Acting, He is Showing off how much he has learned!!
ОтветитьFascinating detail. this analysis is what I crave..the nuts n bolts of this craft..that we all watch..but don't understand or appreciate how it all works.
ОтветитьI love the performance of the woman portraying Rita. she was excellent
ОтветитьThank you a ton🎉🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
ОтветитьSeeing the real thing makes me realise just how good the Peter Serafinowicz parody is!
ОтветитьMichael was acting all the way through this...
Not many people know that...
Never seen this kind of detailed instruction on film acting. It really opens so many doors of understanding what I have viewed in Cinema and how actors are able to communicate emotion- WOW
ОтветитьWho else is here because of Peter Serafinowicz?
ОтветитьPure gold!
ОтветитьNarrative
ОтветитьWhen gets loudly, he gets very loudly indeed.
ОтветитьI found it especially intriguing when Cain showed that on camera cigars look like sausages and sausages like cigars. That might have to do with the camera lenses.
ОтветитьAn profound look into the nature of the art of making movies. Its's genius.
ОтветитьI saw Peter Serafinowicz's skit mocking this before ever seeing the real thing.
ОтветитьWhat movie is this?
ОтветитьHe just retired today, Mr. Caine has inspired countless of actors (me included). I wish him the best in his retirement <3
ОтветитьNot an actor myself, but I've always remembered his advice on eye contact since I saw this in 1987. If I see an actor's eyes move like they're watching a tennis match or are blinking, I always think of Michael Caine. And he was absolutely right, it weakens the character. I'm gobsmacked it still goes on to this day from professional actors.
ОтветитьHe announced his retirement today...
