Ok so the scraper was plastic .. how about an environmentally safe one?
ОтветитьBlack & Decker never makes its own microwave oven. It just puts its brand name on a GLANZ microwave.
ОтветитьWhen I lived in France, I learned you can actually boil sponges periodically to get rid of the "gunk".
ОтветитьThe bulk dish soap was actually hand soap
ОтветитьGreat episode! I learned a lot. I have a trip to the store in my future. By the way I’ve used Barkeepers Friend for decades it’s my best friend.
ОтветитьThat All-Clad skillet costs $199 now. Not a dealbreaker, just an update!
ОтветитьBar keepers friend is mostly an American thing. Be good to have a European test kitchen as my new stainless set is annoying me as it's covered in stains (not food)
ОтветитьNothing beats bleach for disinfecting. Dilute and rinse. Used in bars for decades. No need to wash most glasses.
ОтветитьYou DUMMIES! YOU HAVE TO USE BARE HANDS AND FEEL YOUR DISHES. ANY OF YOU ACTUALLY COOK? BAH! FINGERNAILS MY ARSE!
ОтветитьSponges are useful and disposable. They all stink and harbor scum. Wash them out before every use.
ОтветитьI dont endorse but Dawn is a superior product. I dilute it about 60% and more. They use it to clean oiled ducks!❤
ОтветитьPaper towels are everything to do with the person/nincompoop using them. Only a moron uses them for mopping up liquid.
ОтветитьI loved when Lisa said, "if you know you know" about Barkeeper's friend lol
Any tips for keeping a gas range and the plates over it clean? So much stuff falls into them and mine are chipping
Bar Keeper’s Friend have outstanding products, but you haven’t seen your sink shine until you’ve tried The Pink Stuff! It has quartz pumice, microscopic jagged stone crystals that peel away schmo and oxidation, leaving sinks and appliances looking brand new. ✨💖
ОтветитьThis seems like the most fun job. Kitchen, research/ experimenting, making videos. I’d love this career
ОтветитьMy favourite tool to clean cookware, dishware, and cutlery in the kitchen is the dishwasher.
Loading it correctly, not overfilling it; and just using a cheap box of powdered detergent will go a long way.
Thank you for sharing this! Learned so much from it!
ОтветитьBarkers has been around for a long time, my mother had it when I was a kid. I am 63 years old now….. 🇵🇱🧸⛺️🛶🏳️🌈👩🍳🇺🇸
ОтветитьI wish someone would do this for Australian brands
ОтветитьI put my sponge in a holder that puts it raised up on its side and has a water catchment below. This means the sponge dries out halting bacterial growth. Once a month, or if my sponge gets left in the water, I toss it into the top shelf of the dishwasher -- comes out clean and fresh every time. I know people don't like plastic cutting boards, but putting them in the dishwash is so much safer.
ОтветитьYou realize your plastic scrub brushes and sponges are derived from petroleum? Also the plastic bin you used for your wooden spoons. DONT YOU CARE ABOUT MOTHER EARTH?!
ОтветитьI feel like you should test more products to have a better sample to choose a winner of. Picking only 9 products to test isn’t really a representative sample.
ОтветитьI'm here to say chain mail is the thing for scrubbing cast iron, carbon steel, and stainless steel.
Buy once, forever.
Cool video, but the science explanations for the soaps are not accurate and the math was just stupid and wrong. Yes, 8 is 57% of 14 but that’s not the difference, it is literally the opposite of the difference.
ОтветитьI very much like your sink could you post the name of the manufacturer, thank you
ОтветитьCould you do a test on cleaning products that are unscented please. I tried the Mrs Meyers and Method and it was to strong smelling for me.
ОтветитьSo I make cleaning spray w dish soap diluted w water. Works great. Is it less effective than the method spray? Re paper towels, did you test against private labels like Costco?
ОтветитьAre the O cedar sponges and scrub brush compatible with non-stick pans?
ОтветитьAwesome. I love Mrs. Meyers, but I use Dawn for tough cleaning.
ОтветитьMethod is also safe for pets, ever since I switch for my floors my cat stopped 🤮 I use method for everything
ОтветитьEssa esquerda é podre.
Ответить👍🏽thxs
ОтветитьCoconut oil works well for wooden spoons and cutting boards too, and it is also a natural antibiotic.
ОтветитьI'd like to see the use of things like certain Norwegian microfiber cleaning cloths. I don't sell them, really! But I use them and when I go to someone's house now, I notice the smell of cleaning products. I used to think that could be a clean smell but now I think it's a chemical smell. But I'd like to see someone do some real tests of the cloths. Is the same level of bacteria picked up with microfiber cloths and water as with cleaning solutions that contain surfactants? If you reuse the silver-infused cloths for several days, is the growth of pathogens really being inhibited? I'd test that by squeezing water out of one and testing the water. I like my cloths and my kitchen is truly shiny every night, and the cloths I use in the bathroom (usually the kitchen cloths before I wash them) really shine the bathroom. I like not using chemicals, so I'd appreciate seeing that type of cloth being tested in your kitchens.
ОтветитьA pack of 6 O-Cedar sponges is 20$/6 Canadian, one year later. I swear to god, everyday people are being systematically GOUGED.
ОтветитьQuestion: Can Barkeepers Friend be used on Le Crueset?
I currently use only 3 of the products you mentioned. By next week, I'll be using them all. Many thanks! I really enjoyed this episode. :D
I didn't see the OXO soap dispenser brush in their dish brush lineup and it's my favorite
ОтветитьPut your sponge in the dishwasher to sanitize it with your dishes
ОтветитьSome of my fav hacks are using that cheap plastic soap dish (which is unhelpful, bc the bar soap still sits in water) and filling it w a pile of baking soda, setting it next to the faucet so that while I'm scrubbing dishes I can simply pat the sponge down into it for some extra muscle.
I also keep my vinegar in a spray bottle so I can braise meat while cooking, or add a well dispersed bit of flavor to a dish but this trick works fabulously if I dust a dirty, super greasy pan w baking soda & simply spray the vinegar for some foaming action.
Also, most things that come in a bottle, like hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol, & especially the bottle of mineral oil they have a seal over the top- I simply take a push pin to make a tiny whole in that seal (front & center w the label, or if it's a flip top, in the center of the hole) this really saves the product as well as keeps these items disaster proof if your kids are mesmerized w watching the substance pour out (like the ketchup) and fail to register they are creating a lake of it, on their plates.
About Mineral Oil
I've seen wood workers test out different wood oils to protect wooden kitchen utensils. Turns out, mineral oil wasn't that great. When it tried, it left a residue that didn't "dry hard". Instead, they tended to recommend a oils with a tung oil base. Tung oil is natural, food safe, makes the wood really pretty, and "dries hard" to protect the wood from water damage. One man tested this by boiling wooden spoons for 5 minutes. The tung oil protected the wooden spoons the best.
I can attest the Method all purpose grapefruit does smell wonderful. Works well. I use it on most surfaces.
ОтветитьMineral oil is from petroleum which is same as oil in your car.
Is there a healthy (and better for the earth) alternative oil for wood utensils?
WRING OUT YOUR SPONGE!! Ack!! Bacteria!!
ОтветитьI like this video, but am so disturbed, and annoyed by the atrociously ugly background. Maybe I’m used to white marble kitchens, especially while filming…I can’t get over this, and ironically, it looks worn and dirty!
ОтветитьThanks for telling me why I love Dawn dish soap. Made with fossil fuels? Great! We need more, not less. Alex Epstein and more.
Ответитьoxy clean, all you need
ОтветитьI’d like the video more if it was just No Nonsense Lisa.
ОтветитьHow do I get a white stove in an apartment clean? Also, what is the best product for cleaning ovens? These two are the BANE of my experience, and I've tried normal 409 and scrubbing, and it didn't work, I need a good degreaser
Ответить
