Been waiting for post analysis of the game against Tottenham and Bournemouth but it seems like you only do it when things are going well. Have some guts and be critical where it’s required. Manchester United is nowhere near a decent team at the moment. It will take more than just a manager change to get them back on track. The squad needs an overhaul cause the current players in the squad are too entitled. They're just happy that they play for Manchester United and that's it, winning against city wasn’t really any feat as city was already struggling rather United looked out of their depth at times against them. Honestly the United managers since Fergie left, none of them were the actual problem. Rather it was the board and the players who weren’t serious. Players like Bruno who was celebrating after drawing level against city displayed how unambitious he is that he was happy enough by just equalizing against a rival team.

I know you don't do videos on small clubs, but could you make a video highlighting the downfall of City? It would be interesting to know why they are garbage apart from being all money and no talent

We just got lucky…played on back foot .. barely created chances… on a normal day second goal will be cleared by City defence

Lisandro is decent on the ball and possibly our most progressive defender (bar maz and shaw) his defending isn't good enough, and his physical limitations are too great. his pace is an issue when defending the channels and his stature means he's constantly being targeted by opposition on set pieces and from open play. He has to play until the summer but another CB should be a priority this summer to join maz yoro and rotate with de light.

the amad praise is warranted but overdue easily our most intelligent and technically secure player, does a great job at WB but in the 10 is the best use of his skill set. the other 10 position should be mainoo im baffled with amorims reluctance to play him there, he's a good decision maker on the ball and his ability to retain and dribble with the ball in tight spaces under pressure is second to only amad in our squad. when you consider how careless and sloppy bruno can be with the ball whether in space or under pressure him in the 10 over mainoo isnt a good look. with mainos lack of acceleration and defensive anticipation vs bruno's engine it seems obvious their roles should be switched (maino in the 10 and bruno as the 8) i can only assume its because bruno whilst busy still looses the majority of his duels and the manager thinks is too great a risk when combined with the greater chance of bruno being dispossessed or wasting possession closer to our goal.

One thing i like with Amorim and i hated with Ten Hag is make early subs, even though i dont agree with some of his Subs like the Zirkzee for Hojlund when we were 1:0 down but its refreshing to see a manager make early subs and not scared of What if it goes all wrong like Ten hag and Ole

I'll need to watch the game again as when watching live it felt slow and ponderous with the ball and we didn't look like scoring. Obviously great to get the win the way we did but I'm not convinced this system is going to be great to watch. I absolutely hate the inverted wingers. Would be good to see Antony tried out as LWB. I reckon he could ressurect his Utd career there.

Hey Dave, would you please do a video on who should replace Rashford at United and who should replace Casemiro.

I would love to send Rashford to PSG with £30m and get Xavi Simons. I think Xavi would be a world beater in Amorims system.
I for the life of me can't nail down a back up to Ugarte who would be cost effective.

Honestly I think you are reading too much into this win, and I really think United should be careful in being overly positive. We won, and that's great, but honestly United didn't really play that well, and was quite lucky. And I certainly don't think you can say United really exposed City.
With that being said Amorim is the right coach for Man U, but I don't think we are nowhere near the levels we should be.

City have Everton, Ipswich and Leicester coming up soon. They'll be fine and come back up again by start of January. Teams which play a deep defemce stand no chance against City. Only pressing and being comfortable with possession allow you to exploit the gaps City leave at the back. Hence why City's only win in this horror run is against Nottingham Forest, who sits deep, usually.

I was looking forward to this vid Dave. I watched the game with a bunch of mates (not all MU supporters) and was surprised how they couldnt see any change from the ETH days. Its a massive change and even at the 85th min, I was well satisfied with what I had seen. Its been coming together for a few games and this one we started to see the front 3 making the runs as you pointed out. Its not a zero to 100 process. An improvement of 1% each game will be massive by next season. One thing I havent seen anyone mention but was really pleasing and thats the reaction from Casemiro. That was genuine and reflects probably the most important concept that Amorim is trying to introduce.

I’ve seen so many comments about United getting lucky vs City and it shouldn’t “paper over the cracks” when that’s just nonsense.

Even in their wounded state no one has kept them to 50/50 possession. Not even Liverpool at Anfield.

And only Liverpool have kept them below 1 xG

For me, the most interesting factor of Amorim's system is how it has unlocked our midfield. Under ten Hag, it felt like we had no options there, that Mainoo and Ugarte (maybe Casemiro) HAD to start. Suddenly under this new system, we have so many ways to mix and match the midfield to respond to the demands of the particular opposition and game.

So much of the punditry has essentially labelled this Manchester Derby as turgid. It wasn’t quality in terms of chance creation, but matches between “top” sides generally aren’t creative affairs. Moments make these matches, and Amad certainly made his. There will be times where we pad the goal difference, but this game was never going to be one of them. Guardiola sides have never been great in terms of defending. They defend by never letting the opposition have the ball, not backs to their goal with determined defensive work. Even the great Barcelona side he managed had some terrible defending, it often relied on the likes of Carlos Puyol putting in last ditch tackles that did more to put him on the injury list than stop goals against. They played you to death, they didn’t defend manfully. Now we’re seeing it in England. But none of this takes away from a disciplined United performance that deserves a point at the very least. One team looked like they wanted to win the game, and it wasn’t City.

Fact that we got an identity after only 2 training sessions shows Amorim is clearly a very good coach. I just hope he can get rid of the deadwood before those same players get him fired as well like they did ten Hag. Really tired of a new gaffer every 18 months.
