With what they are doing to legendary franchises like star wars , Indiana Jones , Disney movies, we're lucky Rocky was made in the 70s and not today.

As long as there are filmmakers willing to do cinema I’m going to the theaters.

I'm a big fan of this guy, and how he rose to fame. But his answer was confusing. I'm currently writing a screenplay that I feel passionate about. When he says people can't "pull themselves up by their bootstraps nowadays " (something like that), what did he mean by that?
I understand that Netflix etc has changed everything, and the days of the big screen blockbusters are gone. But what's to stop a determined screenwriter with a terrific story from going out and kicking ass?

He's right, Rocky and the Godfather would have never been made today much great singers in the past like Phil Collins... Short and NOT your best looking guy even though voice of his is Mighty and sounds hypnotic! .. .He would of made it on The Voice but he doesn't have the looks for Today's standards to be marketable for a record deal

I like that he wasn't really complaining about it being better in his day. It's different and you have to adapt to the market. He recognizes that but doesn't resent it. Class act.

Rocky is regarded as one of the best movies in the world, but partially because it’s a 70s classic. Nowadays the film industry would force a gay African-American woman to become more of a “role model”. We live in such a sad world, no one needs role models anymore
