Schools must take part in this endeavor so students at their young age will learn to be responsible in cleaning their environment !

Gotta love that the default opinion of humanity is to dump trash in our nearest drinking water supply

Human beings are incredibly stupid that's why God created volcanic activity volcanoes everywhere volcanoes are in incinerator how hard is it to throw everything into a volcano and you wonder why people are dying at a huge rate

This is the pinnacle of human waste management. Human waste management is pretty shitty.

And if you don’t like, living next to an incinerator, get a better job, try harder at life and move to the suburbs

Most poor people don’t pay taxes they get government assistance to guess what deal with it or apply yourself

Surprising to me how much physical handling there is of bags and other trash. In my suburb, we put our trash in a can and the truck has a grabber that lifts/dumps/replaces the can. A lot safer for the worker.

New York should build it's own incinerator and make landfills in their own state. Why should Pennsylvania, and other states have to take their trash and garbage? Keep it, NY & NYC!

It's funny how these doorknobs were wearing masks to protect against a bs virus but not wearing masks prior for all the diseases and crap in the mountain of waste.

This blows my mind how far behind NYC is. If a city like London can manage its waste then I fail to see how NYC has got itself into this state. It’s got a larger population and a layout from hundreds of years ago.

Blows my mind how something can be this poorly managed. I feel for the workers, they’re fighting a losing battle against a system and population too lazy to change.

Simply amazing...Solid waste or wastewater (which is how we deal with landfill leachate) are hidden gems when it comes to a career. Seriously.

Good grief. A billion plus $$ a year annual budget and there's no recycling??? This is embarrassing!

No excuse for one city to have to dump their trash in four different states. So backwards. 😟

I find in strange you bragg about how much money is spent but somethings can be recycled so you could make even more money by having your own recycle centers without passing the buck to other countries and excuses think of the jobs and infrastructures you could create...

Why don't you build automatic recycling lines that can separate metal, plastics, organics, paper, glass, aluminum into new materials instead of taking them on barge out of your sight? The whole facility would probably cost less than 500 million and reduce costs over 10 years by several billion dollars.

Governor Houchel wants to band gas stoves, and yet NYC gets to pollute by burning 🔥 some of its garbage. Leached water isn't pure. It still has toxins in it. In order for it to be close to pure, it would have to be reverse osmosis. Don't believe the city is paying to have that done. Finally, to have zero pollution, zero carbon...means zero people. People exhale carbon dioxide, which trees require. This zero carbon is nothing but a power and money grab.
