ОтветитьI think the freeze will go till the end of the current presidency. The current administration doesn't care about the mission, they hate government employees and want to minimize them as much as possible. People are leaving left and right with and w/o DRP. If people apply for fed jobs, is going to be out of necessity and not longevity. They destroyed the values and the will to serve. It's going to be really hard to improve what has been done. People are quiting, stressed, and commiting suicide.

ОтветитьTrump, mostly vought, hegseth and the rest of them really don't care if there are rifs or not, don't really care if there are bonifide cuts and reductions ...that is not the point nor has it ever been. The real purpose is two fold; mostly it is to exact revenge on who they feel are the "unelected bureaucrats" who they believe stymied the first term agenda, which for the GS work force nothing could be further from the truth, and secondly to perpetrate the political perception that the Trump admin is cutting government and government spending. It's an illusion, without the tiniest concern nor care about the betterment of the country or the government-not the point.

ОтветитьYou’re not correct about the best qualified statement… If you have veterans preference, you just need to be qualified. That’s the issue many hiring managers have about veterans preference. It’s very difficult for hiring managers to pass over veterans, even if they are not the best qualified.

ОтветитьWhat happens to the people who were ‘bullied’ into taking the fork in the road? The premise was the RIFs are coming so you may as well quit, but if the RIFs are rolled back what happens to those people? Are they screwed? No opportunity to be reinstated?
ОтветитьIf the RIFs are on pause or even maybe halted for ever, was I dumb to take DRP? I got a new job in the private sector, less pay - less benefits but happier work environment. I just feel bad because my federal job was my Career. I was short by 4 years for VERA :(. Many of my federal coworkers don't want to go back to the office so most-to-all are filing RA's for Depression and Anxiety.

ОтветитьI agree that there will be lots if opportunities once the hiring freeze lifts. But other than people already here climbing the ladder, I dont think many people will opt to join the federal service after all this.
ОтветитьCan you discuss the Discontinued Service Retirement since not many discuss it? It is if you are RIFd and are not offered a position within 2 pay grades of your current grade you are entitled to a “discontinued service retirement” where as long as you have 5 years civil service, you retire right then with retirement pay based on what you accrued so far. That’s what I would like.

ОтветитьNot sure if you’re still entertaining questions but in case, here’s mine: opted in and was accepted into DRP 2.0 a couple of weeks ago but told I can’t go on admin leave until my DRP contract is fully signed (waiting for A/S to countersign). That was a couple of weeks ago. Have no leave date established yet. Argh! Do you think DRP is hung up in Illston’s injunction? I read in language somewhere it includes “other administrative actions”. Any idea?

Almost 30 years of telework in an agency with a great track record of success and productivity ,now, all of a sudden, it doesn't work anymore? There were no legitimate grounds to say it didn't work.

ОтветитьThere is no possible scenario where the government can end the supplemental FERS investment that all the workers have contributed without compensation. The fifth amendment protects this seizure of assets. It won’t pass legal muster. No way….
ОтветитьCollins mentioned in his hearing there are 300k jobs listed as exempt from the RIF. Any idea where this list is? It sounds a little contradictory because no position is safe yet he says basically 98% of positions are.

But I'm completely disgusted by what Trump has done this far. I am right leaning by nature. I may never vote blue in my lifetime but I feel like I will never vote red ever again after seeing how they are celebrating demonizing federal workers and dragging us through the mud
