Its crazy that this isnt more talked about. Like, i didnt even know we landed on Venus until a few years ago. The fact they did it in the freaking 80s is insane.

Getting pictures back from Mars is an extraordinary thing in itself but getting some back from Venus 40+ years ago is absolutely unbelievable

I like how they waited until Venera 12 to finally adress the lens cap system issue ^-^" I'm sure they had good reasons as to why they didn't fix it after the first 2 or 3 failed attempts. These photographs are impressive, even more so considering the harsh conditions on Venus. You can tell these scientists and engineers went all out. By the way I was wondering what are these spikes or "teeth" that we see at the base of the probes for ?

Just wanna say the zoomed panning of the photo for most the video is very annoying to watch. Just show the entire photo. Or focus on certain parts when you talk about the details. Not a panning back and forth where i cant see anything.

The poor chumps who lived on Venus, they never listened to the climate change warnings from their scientists.

The fact they created such a probe is a huge achievement for the soviets, and proof that if we as a species all worked together we would have such a bigger chance of guaranteeing the future of human life by spreading out to other places.

I sure hope something like the Venera probe will be sent back to Venus again sometime in the future... i write without watching the whole video

This is not venus....it's not possible to go there. This is probably Greenland or somewhere in the desert but definitely NOT VENUS.

What's interesting to me is that, assuming there once was life on Venus, what the hell happened to cause such a massive shift in climate?
True, it is possible (if not the most likely) that there has never been life in our solar system except for here on Earth; but if so, WHY Earth? Why not one of the other planets?

And if there ever was life on Mars and Venus, why happened to change it? And will that same change happen here on Earth?

One of these days in the future we might have a drone or other types of robots to drive around this planet, anything is possible these days!

Mars: we have dust that will cover your solar arrays and render you useless without constant sun

Moon: I get near absolute zero and will freeze you in months without a heating system

Venus: lol acid air eat you in 2 hours

We would have had much more beautiful photos if the damn lens caps popped off as planned. Both instances of a specific high quality camera's lens cap failed to pop off on landing.

With what we know now would be interesting to see it today. We have heat sheiid's that would be safe now days. Would last longer then hour.
