I was literally today years old when I found out that Churchill in the corner there is played by Rod Taylor from "The Time Machine" released in 1960.
ОтветитьExtreme garbage.
ОтветитьThe fat Basters
ОтветитьIncredible scene by Myers.
Ответитьhaven't watched anything in the past 3 years how i feel this decade fuck china
ОтветитьAs an Englishman I completely approve of this piss take.
ОтветитьIf someone asks me if I "got the gist" like that, I'd be compelled to say yes even if I have no bloody idea what they are talking about.
ОтветитьFrightfully sorry, sir? 😂
ОтветитьProbably one of my favourite scenes EVER in ANY film.
Perfection in every way.
Does anybody see Mike Myers holding his extended pinky finger to the corner of his mouth at the end of this scene? You just have to look closely, just a glimpse :)
ОтветитьWho is the man sitting in the piano
ОтветитьAnyone think the way Fassbender says "cinema" is so funny
Ответитьand the Hollywood elites all came from within 200 kilometres of each other..........from Poland (in those days). !!
ОтветитьHicox's uniform has the following characteristics: He wears the Commando Green Beret, the Combined Operations badge on his left arm, 'No.4 COMMANDO' flashes on his shoulders and an Intelligence Corps cap badge on his beret. This means he was an Intelligence Corps officer who passed the Commando Course at Achnacarry and was serving at the time as part of 'No.4 COMMANDO' (A Commando means both a commando trained individual and a battalion sized formation of commando troops). His 2 medals are the Military Cross (an award for bravery in the face of the enemy) and the Africa Star. This means he was in Africa 1942-43, during which time his conduct earned him the MC.
ОтветитьThe third reich brought down by knowledge of Films - Quentin’s wet dream.
ОтветитьLove how this is a Lawrence of Arabia-esque scene tucked into a Tarantino movie
ОтветитьHere’s a little fun thing: hitler apparently often referred to goebbels as a little troll man
ОтветитьOne subtle but unrealistic thing in this scene was the mission being named "Operation Kino" (German for "cinema")
Historically, Brits picked operation names almost at random; the enemy was less likely to discern the nature of the plan from its name
E.g. The Dunkirk rescue was "Operation Dynamo"
Fabulous scene !
ОтветитьBold to cast mike meyers in the scene, but would have been REAL ballsy to cast Mike as that guy AND Winston Chruchhill
ОтветитьA bit rude not to offer to fix the elephant in the room a drink.
ОтветитьFassy is 🔥
ОтветитьI love how Churchill is just in the back straight chillin
ОтветитьKilometres? He’s a Nazi!
ОтветитьNo one mentioning Rod Taylor as Churchill in this scene. True, legendary old skool Australian actor with some amazing films.
ОтветитьMike Myers' makeup looks fake a f**k
ОтветитьI wish us brits still spoke like that. I would love to show my approval with a swift “jolly good sir”
ОтветитьThis is why you never trust women. First she betrayed the German people to collaborate with the enemy and then she came up with the dumbest plan imaginable that immediately failed when she chose an SS bar to meet in and lost her shoe.
ОтветитьI cannot say where, but I have seen the bar in the globe in many British films.
It is a cliche I was not consciously aware of.
But, a true British film cliche it is.
“At ease, Hiii COCKS” 😂😂 as soon as I heard that line, I already knew that this scene was gonna be cinematic gold😂 “….but the Jerry’s have heard of them, cause these Yanks have bin them the devil” I laughed so loud at that line as well
Ответитьcelzeck vacation home. RS on my road behind the gates ! I told you
ОтветитьNo junk in it…
ОтветитьDon’t get more bri’ish than Austin powers himself
ОтветитьKilometres? No
Motion picture? No.
"The Bastards will be waiting for you." Gets me everytime. Almost Austin Powers-ish.
ОтветитьAnd for accuracy... notice which hand Churchill is using to hold his cigar
ОтветитьDa Vincehhhhhhh
ОтветитьWhere else but in a Tarantino movie, could we attend one of his informative and quirky seminars on the historic minutia of Cinema... explained by our favorite stars as part of the story line with complimentary front-row seats?
ОтветитьBored parody.
ОтветитьMike Myers wasn’t funny at all in this scene
ОтветитьQuentin: "what would be the most English name ever written......Archie Hickox. " Brilliant.
ОтветитьWould love to see Tarantino do a bond film.
Ответить"Make it yourself a chap, will you?", "frightfully sorry sir", "jolly good sir", "got the gist?", "paris when it sizzles"
these lines are pure gold. it's more British than any British i know.
There is just so much satire and sarcasm in this entire scene I can imagine them taking several takes to do it because they couldn't stop laughing.
ОтветитьIt’s like Myers’ character is too eager to say van Hammersmark’s name and shock the soldier. When the soldiers asks her name, he’s happy that he has the opportunity to say it.
ОтветитьActually its the Rod Taylor scene.
ОтветитьSeenimaaaaah
ОтветитьAlmost English, Europeans say kilimeters the English say miles....
ОтветитьAmong the "Britishness" of this scene, you have to admire the tinge hint of creating a seemless, finessely , quiet whisper of
"M" briefing Commander Bond in the very first few Bond films.
But done so subtly as to create their own style and version of it WITHOUT it looking like satire, gross plagiarizing or over done, overt mimicking of characters but a fresh essence that easily could be, and HAS been missed.
Actors and Writers in this scene should be applauded for copying WITHOUT copying.
So, Mike Myers really can't do a face that's not funny. Must be terrible to live like that
