A beautiful song beautifully performed.

ОтветитьI was on the other end of that call once upon a time to my ex. Funny thing about life. It never fails to disappoint. I'm 69 and my wife of 23 years has decided I'm not sexual enough. Not what I expected at this point in time was being alone once more. Well I'll be damned.....
ОтветитьVoice, lyrics, Joan. Each one sublime, les trois ensemble extraordinaire. Merci madame pour tous les souvenirs.
ОтветитьJoan is always one of my my favourite female artists of all times, have had most of her CDs,don’t think in my life time will have another Joan Baez, blessed to be one of her passionate fans
ОтветитьSuch a great song. In my mind it sits next to Famous Brown Raincoat by Leonard Cohen.
ОтветитьFor my lost love.

ОтветитьHerzblutkonzentrat
ОтветитьMs. Baez' voice is so remarkable, but her guitar composition is so ethereal and appropriate for the song. Joan's a world treasure.
ОтветитьJoan's song about her time with Bob Dylan. Dylan calls her ten years later and asks her ... whats up? Diamonds and Rust
ОтветитьI have Joan's 1st 2 albums ----------I had such a crush on this woman ! And then, I saw Mimi, & I was in love, all over again. ---MJL, 76 y/o

ОтветитьGod bless you, LOVE ❤️
ОтветитьI feel badly for those who don't know Joan Baez's music. My 38-year-old son is in the process of collection LP's. I advised him that DIAMONDS AND RUST is a "classic keeper," an album I bought as a college student . Talk about nostalgia! Listening to this song brings back a rush of emotions and memories, some fond and some tragic but all significant in my life. Sometimes I feel "old" at 70, but mostly I feel grateful for the amazing human beings and musicians whose words and talent have touched my life. Thank you, Joan Baez, for your cherished contribution!
ОтветитьGreat lover of Joan Baez and early Dylan.
There is a picture of the two of them standing in front of a sixties poster that says, " FIGHT CONFORMITY".
Funny that we've come complete circle with the WOKE movement that DEMANDS!!! complete conformity.
It's been a long, strange journey.
This poetry wasn't so lousy.
ОтветитьWow , Ce Interpretă Fantastică , Ce Voce Minunată Și Cât De Frumoasă , Superbă , Plăcută Și Fascinantă Ești , JOAN BAEZ ! Ești DIVINĂ Fată , Ești DIVINĂ !❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ !!!!!
ОтветитьBest song about unrequited love ever. Her poetry’s evocative; not “lousy” at all. Still remember the first time I heard this song in 1975. She’s got great genes. Her father invented the x-ray microscope and won the Nobel prize for Physics.
ОтветитьBEST SONG EVER JOAN. I’m 70!
ОтветитьWhat a voice!!!!!!!!

Ответить帶著清風般淡淡的拂過心緒……深深的亂……起
ОтветитьI'm 73 years young. I saw Joan on the Colbert late night show. If she would dye her hair I I would not be able to tell her from her young self.
ОтветитьLinda, linda, linda.
ОтветитьDillons an idiot. He's shadowed now by a woman he never deserved.
Life goes on.
I'm 67 and l absolutely loved this song.
ОтветитьMy God, she's exquisite! How do you top that?
Ответить"Speaking strictly for me
We both could have died then and there..."
Lost love, pain, 😢
You Joan and Mary C C made covid bearable
ОтветитьSo moving and truthful - and that voice!
ОтветитьHow to compare this music and what kids listen to today ? It is like trying to compare Life with Death..
ОтветитьLove this song - GREAT Album!!
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьSo beautiful, always, Petet, NZ.
ОтветитьIn the Pennebaker documentary ( Dont Look Back) of Dylan's 1965 solo UK tour , Joan was in the entourage, he never allowed her to perform but in the hotel and off stage scenes you can see and hear she is being, for want of a better word, ignored. Dylan writing a new song on a typewriter, Baez strumming a folk song, folk that he was already leaving behind. Dylan are the piano playing chords that eventually become the electric "Like a Rolling Stone" that would appear a year later on Highway 61 in 1966.
ОтветитьYep
ОтветитьNow you’re telling me you’re not nostalgic? 😜
Ответитьпристы так и нен пришли в себя))
Ответитьthank you Joan
ОтветитьBad recording!
ОтветитьWell, I'll be damned
Here comes your ghost again
But that's not unusual
It's just that the moon is full
And you happened to call
And here I sit
Hand on the telephone
Hearing a voice I'd known
A couple of light years ago
Heading straight for a fall
As I remember your eyes
Were bluer than robin's eggs
My poetry was lousy you said
Where are you calling from?
A booth in the midwest
Ten years ago
I bought you some cufflinks
You brought me something
We both know what memories can bring
They bring diamonds and rust
Well, you burst on the scene
Already a legend
The unwashed phenomenon
The original vagabond
You strayed into my arms
And there you stayed
Temporarily lost at sea
The Madonna was yours for free
Yes, the girl on the half-shell
Could keep you unharmed
Now I see you standing
With brown leaves falling all around
And snow in your hair
Now you're smiling out the window
Of that crummy hotel
Over Washington Square
Our breath comes out white clouds
Mingles and hangs in the air
Speaking strictly for me
We both could have died then and there
Now you're telling me
You're not nostalgic
Well give me another word for it
You who are so good with words
And at keeping things vague
'Cause I need some of that vagueness now
It's all come back too clearly
Yes, I loved you dearly
And if you're offering me diamonds and rust
I've already paid
I just love this version!! Joan I love your voice...❤❤❤
