If I'm not mistaken, Gen 2 Lance's Gyarados uses Rain Dance on turn one always. It could be more complex than that in that he'll use Rain Dance if it doesn't immediately see a kill, but that's generally what you would expect to happen on turn 1

Imagine playing the start of the game in Kanto on the Crystal Legacy rom hack. What a nitemarish hell to experience as a pkmn trainer.

i really dont like your rules. why not use items? gives so much more dimension to the strategies and since you have very limited money, you cant abuse it. instead, you should have given yourself the hms only when you would have gotten them during a rby run.

with those rules, this is gonna be a real boring challenge. go somewhere where the wild pokemons have high level, catch them, then beat the gym leader with it. not much strategy to it, only rng.

btw, according to your rules, you could just grind brock. you said no grinding wild pokemon, but that doesnt mean you cant switchtrain bulbasaur against brock till it can solo kanto....

would be an attractive tombola if new pokemon games were actually good :(

Think this would have been a good idea to start in kanto but have the gym leaders levels match the gen 1 levels, then jump over to Johto and have their levels and team be post Elite Four Level
