The Installer Encountered an Error Copying Files To The Hard Disk Ubuntu: Error 5 input output error

How I fixed this problem (While Installing Ubuntu 22.04.3) on my PC (not VM-Virtual Machine);
1). Downloaded ISO file from official Ubuntu website
2). Used Rufus 4.3.2090 to create the bootable USB drive/pendrive) [Use preferably the latest version available]
3). Select GPT (Partition Scheme) which automatically selects UEFI(not CSM) as target system
4). Select NTFS ( File System )
5). START the creation of bootable USB drive (When the process is complete, you will see a full green progress bar at the bottom)
6). Use the Bootable USB drive to Install the Linux distro of your choice ( Mine was Ubuntu 22.04.03)
7) Good Luck!

I had the same issue. I fixed it by changing the bootable drive. Initially, I used 4gb pendrive to boot and got this error. Then I used 16gb pendrive, I didn't get this error. Everything installed perfectly

I had same problem but i fix it actually this is media issue in which you boot linux I boot my linux in SD card with card reader through Rufus everything was ok but when I install I got this error I changed my card reader which was new one and good quality and insert my SD card in it and my problem is solved

The problem is after installation is completed I restart it and when I restart it the process again starts to install

I was facing the same problem, I just resolve by checking the minimal installation rather than normal installation. In other options I also check download update while installing Ubuntu and install third-party software for graphics and wifi hardware and additional media formats.

In work in my case may it work in your cases. May Allah help u people to fulfill your dreams.
