✎ A day after the announcement reveal, Sonia hears a knock on her door. It’s a familiar one.. A secret knock that only two people knew the chime of.

“Gundham?” Sonia says as she opens the door, and as expected, finds the clairvoyant on the other side. However, he looked nervous.. Frightened, even.

She allows him into her cottage, and the usually stoic Fortune Teller begins to pace, muttering under his breath and toying with his scarf. Sonia watches for a moment, surprised, until she takes a step closer, gathering his hands in hers.

“Gundham, please, tell me what’s the matter,” Sonia beckons, her usually loud voice now soft. Gundham’s eyes instantly find hers, a gesture that both were so used to, when his calm blue with liquid red met her vibrant teal iris. Instead of calm, there was a storm.

“I..” Gundam tries to speak but still seems irked. A moment passes, before he finally composes himself, “I am a master of the dark arts, a mortal who was allowed into the realm of mystery thanks to my unbiding power. Alas, this latest motive has set even me, the shadow lord, into a panic.”

He bites his lip, and his hands clench, which Sonia returns warmly, rubbing his knuckles with the pad of her thumb. This breaks out a smile from the tense other, and he sighs, allowing some tension to ease from him.

“I just dislike how that raccoon can so easily make someone lose something so natural to them, a basic right that no one ever really thought of,” Gundham continues, running a free hand through his hair, mussing the already messy locks, “To have your anatomy, your free will taken from you just because you choose to trust someone, or if you cannot help yourself.. It’s.. scary.”

From his cloaks, he reveals Mikan’s voodoo doll, careful not too touch it too harshly. He lays it on SOnia’s bed and goes back to pacing.

“It’s.. -vile! I don’t like the negative emotions tied to this..!” Gundham finally ceases his pacing and adverts his eyes, vulnerability present in the ever-steady figure of the time. Sonia softens and thinks for a moment before an idea comes.

“Well,” Sonia begins, clasping her hands together, “I agree, it is a horrible situation. But, Gundham, how did we get through it thus far?”

Gundham glances at her, curiosity visible in his dual-coloured eyes, awaiting an answer.

“By sticking together. We are like.. Bird’s of a feather!” Sonia claps her hands, smiling gently. Gundham looks like he is about to scoff, but pauses to consider. Good!

“... you aren’t wrong,” Gundham finally agrees, finding her eyes again, “But, this is the most personal motive yet. Aren’t you worried about.. Being hit by it again? You are at high risk here, my dark one.”

Sonia simply smiles at him, the look full of trust, full of the weight of their bod. She uses both of her hands to grasp his arm and gives him an optimistic look, something that even the sun would melt at.

“Then I’ll do what I have always done.” Sonia answers as if it were obvious, “I’ll trust the Great and Powerful Gundham, who has kept me safe so far.”

The other tries to be strict and the voice of concern, but his ice melts, and finally, Gundham smiles. It’s small, but so genuine that Sonia’s grows like a fully bloomed flower.

He couldn’t help but follow the blonde, she was the one exception to his worries.

“.. Whatever you want, my dark one,” He sighs, and Sonia squeals, pulling him close for a hug.

Gundham returns it with a dramatic scoff, the look in his eyes way too fond for it to even be considered real for a moment. They were in this together.
