So where are they going to launch that if the war starts? They have to put that on land, so it has to be delivered to Taiwan before it can be used. China would take it out before it is even able to be used like Russia did to most delivery in Ukraine.

China has many types of jets some can beat any US jets in the sky. All 11 US aircraft carriers won't last more than 1 hour in real war in any oceans if Chinese Navy really attacks them. Chinese anti ship missiles are no joke. They can hit any ships even in US water. Chinese drones are newly built about 200 to 300 times of all NATO combined drones. China is the king of antiship missile, jet, battleship, submarine, and drone production. Just Chinese drones alone can crush all US battleships in 1 or 2 hours. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

All the destroyers, cruisers or other ships already got their own defense or offensive weapons of similar system. This is USMC toy. They may feel safer for they have a system to call their own to enhance and complement to the Navy's. I'm for it. They look awesome as well potential real killer when comes to Chinese ships and carrier. So it can be easily mounted on aircraft and UAS, that's awesome. Why we need to get rid of 2/3 of Marine canon artillery to make space for this makes no sense when one UAS and one radar plt could accomplish the same effect. Marine arty should be focused on the close fight, not what's going on beyond the FSCL, unless you're HIMARS. Also not convinced in the least the NSM has been rigorously tested against common anti-ballistic measures like CWIS, chaff, and/or other spoofing mechanisms.

I think the USA is misguided in thinking that China is going to invade with hundreds of ships. No, if China decides to hit Taiwan it will saturate the island with a massive wave of rocket/missile/drone/cyber attacks that will knock out airports, highways, military bases, storage facilities, command and control centers and power stations. Then they will blockade the island with ships and aircraft and the island will starve and surrender within 30 days. The Chinese will never get their feet wet.

There is an old adage, if it looks right, it generally is. This system looks like a hurried hash up. I don’t see it being a success. It’s range isn’t that great. It’s probably not too hard to intercept. It looks seriously weak and wobbly too.
