So Listen Netflix im hoping you guys don't take everyone's opinion to heart! Take Buzz Feed for example, they are giving feed back as though this show or dating related are just a waste of time. I actually think that Colby really is a narcissist (I know that word gets thrown around a lot, but he is extremely manipulative and never seems to understand that it's possible he is wrong sometimes) and he sensed that Alexis, who for SURE has her own deep issues, is not someone he can manipulate long-term like Madlyn.

She said in the beginning she liked to control things, but she could not control Colby's reaction to her, but she knew she could control Hunter's reaction, when she was not being chosen by anyone to make a big speech at the dinner table until Hunter came to rescue her by proposing.
