ОтветитьCan you explore across the road from there, I’ve explored there 5 years ago behind the rusty old steel fence, also beyond the gate at the end of the road 😉

ОтветитьDin hi l-ikbar forti li hallew il-kavallieri u l-ahhar forti li bnew il-kavallieri. Differenza bejn forti inglizi u dak tal-kavallieri ija li tal-kavallieri bhala forti mibni massic u li jidher mil-ghadu filwaqt li dak ingliz mohbi u taht l-art. Din id-differenza tista tara bejn zewg forti vicin xulxin dan il-forti forti Ricasoli u Forti Rinella ftit metri boghod li qieghed mhafer taht l-art u mill-gholi ma jidher xejn. Ma nafx jekk Fort Ricasoli kienx modifikat mill-inglizi li naf zgur il-bieb modifikawh. Semmejtu il-kas ta' dik il-mara lejn l-ahhar ta' l-1800 xi 1898 kien hemm kas iehor ta' qtil maghruf bhala il-qtil ta' Abel u Kahin. Fejn il-kugin il-kbir li kellu madwar 15 il-sena qatel lil kuginuh iz-zghir ta' madwar 6 7 snin. Kien jghir ghalih u kien hadu Ricasoli u probabli f'xi wiehed min dawk il-mini qatlu kien garalu il-gebel hallieh hemm 3 t'ijiem, ma qatlux mal-ewwel. Hallieh hemm bla ilma u ikel u fl-ahhar kien wadablu gebla ghal rasu biex ma jibqax ibaghti. Kien mar u stess ghand il-pulizija fl-ghassa ta' haz-zabbar peress li kien taht l-eta il-qorti qatata li jmur mount carmel flok il-habs u min hemm ma hareg qatt. Wara li kien ghamel zmien li kellu jaghmel baqa hemm xorta u miet xi 1980. jekk mhux sejjer zball.

ОтветитьVery Cool vids. Thanks for makin 'em. Daw il postijiet kollha li tmorru tiehdu permess biex tithlu? Niftakar Ricasoli ma tistax tithol f certu postijiet/min certu bibien,
Forti Delimara mortu ilhaqtu qabel ma inalqet?
Those tunnels were built for a particular reason, the side tunnels you can notice that they are built with smaller very hard and rough rocks, those "GIRNA" like dead end tunnels were filled with gunpowder barrels and were meant to be blown up if the disembarkment of the enemy would be outnumbering the defence of the forts, If detonated that rubble will fly in all directions like shrapnels and will destroy every living think in their path, No countermine was ever expolded in the Maltese islands during the sieges.
ОтветитьIn the counterguard you showed the place with hooks , this was used as a prison cell in the film Count of Monte Cristo . In the tunnel when i was young with friends from Kalkara Toni, Vanni and some others which i don`t remember now used to play hide and seek . When a guy was very hard to find all we do is light a small fire at the entrance and he comes running out like hell..A bit dangerous but when you`re young ...............I was told that by a historian that those IGLOO like where you crawled will be filled by gunpowder ,When the invaders land they will be forced to hide under the slope so when the appropriate time comes the defenders will blow the place up. So it was a difensive measure.
ОтветитьCoordinates please!!
ОтветитьIt's about time they restored it properly and it's a disgrace haw some Maltese poeple trow rubbish avrywhere
