Great review! I feel like it gets the same "internet opinion" as the AT. Everyone says that it's flat and boring in comparison to other bikes. I say they just don't know how to ride because the AT is a beast if you have the skill to ride it aggressively. Also, the manual AT is only 505lbs. I was actually waiting for the Transalp when I saw a used AT with low miles. Zero regrets.
I can't wait to see what RallyRaid does with these!
I'd love to see more budget bikes. I live in Brazil and here, a budget daily means something like the Honda's and Yamaha's 125 to 300cc categories. Pretty sure, it means something like that for many other countries also. I like watching Zach riding around and talking about big bikes but I'm also pretty far from being able to afford one.
ОтветитьWheelies are stupid! Poor review. Nothing re: wheels, tubes, maintenance, troubles expected over time, et al.
ОтветитьAny news if it will get DCT?
ОтветитьReally disappointed the Ross white isn’t an option in the states. The nod to late 80s Hondas is what got em really excited about this bike! In all black it just looks like a cb500x to me. Bummer
ОтветитьI don’t think I would ride anything that can easily be re-named the trans-slap. Hahahaha
ОтветитьGreat stuff. Glad I found your channel after 2 months looking at transalp videos.
ОтветитьYou are the best bike reviewer in my mind! THX Happy New Year 2024! 🍾
ОтветитьAnother cookie cutter parallel twin
ОтветитьExhaust too low and weight too high!
ОтветитьOnly problem is the air filter is under the fuel tank. Not great for lots of travel on dusty dirt roads.
ОтветитьFurther proof you don't ride a spec sheet
ОтветитьGuzzi V100 Mandello and Ducati V4 Pikes Peak, please!
ОтветитьSo the big question... Is the Africa Twin with the extra money over the TA?
ОтветитьFormer Tiger owner here. I don't get these bikes. They have a great street position, but are a pain to ride quickly on the road, tall and lanky and top-heavy...??? Don't understand em.
ОтветитьA big miss for me is no cruise control. I don't care about the quick shifter, but no cruise is a deal breaker for me.
ОтветитьWatching my Bro, Zack swooning over this bike makes me very interested in the Transalp
ОтветитьI'd love to see your take on my own daily rider, the Honda PCX 160.
ОтветитьIs this the first bike in DR history to get the "*pat pat* Good bike!" double pat??
ОтветитьZack, could you do a few more bikes that are more affordable for those of us who don’t have too much disposable income? Some ideas would be the Honda CBR300 (or CB300), Honda CB500F, Kawasaki Z400, Yamaha R3, Duke 390 or CF Moto 450NK.
ОтветитьAnother great video! Just a question, I'm not sure if this is somewhere or not, but do you all intend to do a Daily Rider for the Triumph Trident 660? Would be really interested in seeing your opinions on that for a DR.
ОтветитьOne single ride is not a review. Thumbed down.
ОтветитьAnother bike I was disappointed didn’t come to our shores, the world raid Tenere 700.
ОтветитьWhile I was looking at bikes, it was on my shortlist as well as the NT1100, plus I have a dealership close by. I was disappointed that it wasn’t coming to North America. I went with the 22 Tracer 9 GT, I do like the thump though, that is why I’ve kept my monster 796.
ОтветитьAlways thought Tran Slap was an odd name for a bike , until I heard you pronounce it properly
ОтветитьTranslap Vs cb500x? For A2 market??? As a commuter and as a dirt ish bike - anyone got opinions?
ОтветитьIf this is the same headlight, that is on the hornet, it needs to be improved. Not very good for night riding. Sorry.
ОтветитьIt's always good to get Zach's thoughts. There are so many Johnny Come Lately reviews out there, appreciate hearing from an experienced motorcyclist.
ОтветитьLike your style and type of content.
ОтветитьProblem is you gotta spend another few grand in upgrades to make the trans worth a shit. Just get the KTM and ride with a smile.
ОтветитьCan't see the name of this bike and not see TRAN SLAP 😂
ОтветитьBeen shopping my first bike for 2 years, this review sold me on committing to buy it. Comments: no cruise axed it, maybe they'll add/unlock CC.
ОтветитьI could never get to the off road limit on a bike like the T7. For me personally the Honda might be enough and slightly cheaper
Ответитьis the Transalp to the africa twin what the versys650 is to the 1000 or the weestrom to the 1050? Where smaller might be actually better? Or is there a case to be made for the Africa Twin?
ОтветитьArguably the smoothest midrange adventure bike on the highway and NO cruise control.
Such a shame, because this would likely be my next bike if it had it.
Is this the best bike to upgrade to from the CB500X? Usage will be city commuting during the week and adventures (longer highway rides, curvy roads and maybe some green laning/mild offloading) during weekends. Thinking of this, T7, Vstrom & versys
Also, why is the T7 not on the board, is it that bad of a daily rider to not feature at all?
half-rica twin :D
and yeah, cruise-control is a very important feature to this kind of bikes.
i think a lot of people will choose Honda Transalp over Yamaha T7, as not so many people actually will/can use all the offroad "benefits" or capabilities of t7. and transalp has more comfort and bigger overall which is better for the road trips and it has like 20 more HP too i suppose. great great bike, i agree it deserves to be #1 in daily rider. (this was also a very very long awaited bike from honda)
Can't get by the mortar tube exhaust
ОтветитьIts such a shame that the hornet and transalp's looks are so boring. Typical Honda, but they can design unique bikes, look at the cb1000r
ОтветитьZac,Its been 11 months since the Super Meteor was reviewed in India, when can we expect a review riding in the US? Please don't bother with a ton of specs that know one is (I don't think bothered about), I respect your opinion 👍
ОтветитьI would never spend money on a new adv/touring bike that does not have cruse control as standard equipment don't care about traction control, ABS, quick shift or any of the other electronic gimmicks. No CC then no sale-I'll ride what I got.
Ответитьyou say cheap but with the milage and lack of CC, this should have been a $7,5 bike.
ОтветитьIf it had cruise control I would be more inclined to test ride. What would it actually cost Honda to add during production? Not much I'm guessing. Could you add the 'seat to peg' height on all of your reviews? Seat height is one thing but 'seat to peg' is important when riding. Enjoy your reviews.
ОтветитьA day late, short dollars are good. Why so ugly? Tiger 900 for shorty anyway. Va Va Boom.
ALSO: We need night shift reviews. Like, why did the road disappear on almost-hard braking on the Angeles Crest with my CB500X? Long way down My Bro.
Will it be a good BDR bike in regards to off-road capability and durability. I had the NC700, but something would get damaged almost every time I took it off-road.
ОтветитьI wish they made the XL700V version too from back in the day. Those Honda v twin engines had so much character and a wonderful sound. Just something about a 52° Japanese V Twin that makes me happy. Miss them. 😢
ОтветитьI would rather have cruise and get rid of a quick shifter
Anyone else feel the same?
