Is a Military-issue M4A1 Better than a Civilian AR15?

M855A1 ammunition is a big plus for the army guys, because that round is SPICY.

03-04 I was still running Iraq with an M16A1 with the triangle metal hand guards that would filet your hand if you didnt have gloves on. We used full auto every day all day going door to door. We "upgraded" to m4s that deployment and didn't even have full auto. We only had 3 round burst that we never used. That's when we swapped to frags or 203 through windows before a breach. 05-06 we weren't allowed to frag anymore and I ran my entire career with that weapon. 2013 we finally went back to heavy barrels and full auto m4s and I never shot it full auto the full 2 years I carried it. The military heavily focused on accurate shots during target engagement. Show of force that logic went out the window of course. The biggest difference between a civi AR and a military m4 is the military has 20-30 guys all shooting at the same time and we don't have to pay for the ammo. My civi AR is leaps and bounds better than my m4 ever was. Except I cant afford to shoot the same volume.

At the end of the day, they both shoot a 5.56 round.

Full auto is great for breaking cover where you need to suppress the enemy when moving from cover to cover.

It's a dumb question. The quality of an AR Congress from the BCG and the barrel and trigger, and all of those you can buy on the civilian market. Same with optics. The only difference is having a second sear for full auto. Which morally and constitutionally we should be allowed to have. But we have grown into pussies who won't actually fight, violently fight, to keep our rights.

I keep hearing this training, training, training, training. Define this training thing of which you speak of . I play cod daily, does that count? I was in the army. Does that count? I was a radio operator in a shorad ada bn. Does that count? I was a radio operator in a patriot battery, does that count? I was a radio operator in a heavy construction battalion in Iraq. Does that count? They were phrasing in the M4s. Guess who got them? E7 and above. Guess why, they didn't need the weight.

To answer the title question, no am issued rifle is not better than a civilian rifle. Maybe it could be more reliable because it’s not modified as much as a civilian rifle but most military rifles are used up and need repairs 😂

All Wars are Obviously Fake , no men have been in combat in any wars.

Obviously I has a greater effective range than any AR Rifle chambered in 5.56.
Most other uses under 200 yards the AR will be better at most things.

I have slowly upgraded my DB-15. first iron sights, then red dot, then light, finally a sling.

As a currently enlisted US Reservist, I was actually told in my basic training by one of my more adult friends -- who had been a former sheriff's deputy and a huge gun guy -- that to buy an AR15 over an M4. Our BT M4s had been beaten into hell but I was still proud of my 1cm - ~2cm spread for BUIS and CCO.

The AR15 he had told me had a more reliable cycling system even though they were gas-operated cycling systems. Can you or someone here clear the air about that? I plan to purchase an AR style weapon to get an edge with weapons practice and future deployment.

When I was in the Marines I never once heard anyone ever bitch, moan and groan about the MOA of an A2 or an M4, ever. You got on the range, got your dope, then did a little PT followed by chow. Lots of dead peeps from the A1, A2 and M4 government issued weapons while engaging with iron sights, no fancy furniture. We were mainly issued M855 and some older M193's on top of that, nothing special.
All the newer AR platforms are absolutely fantastic, I have many builds.  
My humble advice is, don't get hung up and emotionally drawn into the minutia about what is the best AR platform. What's better, the M4 or the MK!8? Yes, both are.

Can't afford? Well, since they're using tax payer, ie civilians money, to fund said defense budget. I say we crowd source and pool for a neighborhood F35.

The weapon itself is designed for military purposes, it should be better than the civilian Armalite
Although externally, there is not much difference between the two weapons, only in terms of barrel length, and one of them is only semi-automatic
The defects of the original M16 included the corroding barrel and the locking mechanism of the weapon, which jammed in many cases due to high rate fire which is around 1000 rpm which is much higher than the number of shots of the Kalashnikov around 700, so obviously the jamming is greater and the structure of the Kalashnikov is also much simpler
A good question is how well this has been improved, there are no more data on this
The Kalashnikov is only one degree better in the mud test than the M4, the M4 has improved a lot at this level

Id argue that AR15s are higher value than any military M4 or M16. Most service weapons are older and have had many many temporary owners.

I would love to continue to point out that when I was in the military I was issued an AR-15. Not an M-16. It literally said AR-15 on the side of my gun. It was made by Colt. Courtesy of the first branch to accept the AR-15 as the rifle. Pretty sure mine was one of the originals because of how much it sucked 🤣.

While I would like to have a full auto weapon, I couldn’t afford to shoot it full auto very much with the price of ammunition. For me it would be a novelty and that’s about it. I’ve shot some full auto at automatic weapon shoots where you pay for a magazine or belt. It’s fun and it should be legal without the tax stamp and outrageous price of NFA guns. It seems like the criminals can get their hands on full auto guns if they wish so the whole argument for keeping full automatic weapons out of the hands of criminals isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.

Tbh I use to not like this channel cause you rubbed me the wrong way. You didn’t fit into my “ideal” look of a combat operator. But damn seeing you do drills and your confidence in handling your firearms have changed my mind..

AR 15s are superior.

The Colt LE 6920 was as close to the M4 as civis can get.

A civilian should be able to respond to a call to arms from their sheriff in defense of their community with body armor, ifak, rifle capable of firing M855, 6+1 Magazines, and the skills to hit a paper plate at 300m. Helmet+NVD+LAM is a plus, but a reliable white light at minimum. Add a duty sidearm in 9mm and the skills to hit that paper plate at 30m.
That's what runs through my head. I don't want to show up being a burden or liability.
I'm old and don't walk so good, but I can do sentry duty if called.

People who don't understand what full-auto is used for should stay in the civilian world.

You were saying that citizens can’t afford really high dollar military equipment like gunships, but what about the richest people in the world? Surely if they can send rockets to space as a pastime they can afford to arm themselves with a lot if they chose to do that.

Simple logic here, military buys bulk weapons for every soldier regardless of MOS to use. Private buyer can spend any amount on any gun with any mod. Of course civilians guns will shoot better. The price point, build quantity and craftsman ship is unlimited on the private side.
