Fallout 3 is the kind of game you push through, hoping for the game to get better and the story to be more meaningful along the way. Then the ending happens and you look back on those 8-10 hours wasted in the cool looking but boring world.

I still had more fun with 3 than 4 without mods

You have put into words my feelings about most RPG games, especially MMORPG games... It doesn't feel like my adventure. Especially when the first quest is to make you the saviour of a town and gives you a little title. Only to go into the next town and see 500 "Saviours of Unicorn Way"

A game isn't garbage just because it wasn't custom tailored to suite your preferences. The world is a diverse and expansive system filled with billions of people all possessing one of 16 personality types which branch off into about 250 million different selective variations of those 16 personalities. Some of those 250 million personalities prefer fallout 3. Excuse me if I am misinformed but, were you appointed supreme adjudicator of society and its game preferences? This isn't an attack on your character, jm merely arguing against the title of this video and the premise of your verbiage. Fallout 3 was incredible when it was released. It was a different time, a different generation. When a game is released is just as important as its content. This is why many games today are not up to par by my standards, I'm getting old and obsolete so they don't pander to people like me as much as they used to when I was in my late teens early twenties. I give fallout 3 a solid 7 overall.

The best Bethesda game is the game not made by Bethesda, and this from someone whose favorite game of all time is Skyrim. NV is my third tho.

This game was never intended to have a deep story, its so you can do whatever you want.

i play fallout 3 in the form of tale of two wastelands. a mod for new Vegas that just fucking adds all of fallout 3 to the latter. in so doing it fixes about half the problems (because it's a new Vegas mod, you don't deal with hilariously underpowered deathclaws, you have traits, you get the better speech (with auxiliary mods), etc.)
and yet. the main reason i play ttw? is because some of my favorite new vegas mods are exclusive to it. theres one that changes the lucky 38 in a way i like. i can have proper dogmeat. all that jazz

Maybe Fallout games past 2 should’ve never happened. Doesn’t get any better than 1 and 2. This guy would’ve been thriving so hard if 3 never happened, I guaranteed that.

Tutorials on Bethesda games are usually drawn out garbage. There's some neat stuff in between the looting and shooting. Still need to play fallout and Eldar scrolls 1 and 2. They are a bit of fun but choices are far between and stories are... mostly lacking. I like the game but for the loot/shoot along with the jankyness.

I took RL to the end and had him finish the final quest, and the game still deemed me a coward and my follower the true hero? I found this so stupid because I chose to allow my robot who wouldn’t die so I was smart enough to not let anyone die and that was cowardice?
