What Does It Feel Like to Awaken Spiritually? | Eckhart Tolle

I am almost convinced that the more messed up you are, the quicker you awaken. The level of suffering escalates to a level that is unbearable. That's when it started for me. Thank God it has progressed to the point that peace came followed my clarity. I am so grateful for having been blessed.

I have not awakened spiritually yet, and don't look like I'm going to. This guy is suggesting that by experiencing a beautiful sunset or whatever, that stimulates one to think spiritual thoughts, is going to magically dissolve all the problems we have. It won't. They are still going to be there. So.... big deal ! So we get to recognise we're all One. And...? Then what ? Is that going to pay my electricity bill ? Is it going to restore the relationship break up one may have just had ? Is it going to repair my broken leg ? We're still here in this physical 3D world. You can't apply 5D and above solutions to 3D challenges because we're not IN 5D yet. Spirit needs to appreciate this and stop placing unrealistic expectations on us.

A year or so ago I had awakened but did not recognise it as such. There was a sense of calmness that everything was working out great in my life. I saw all the beauty around me and I had a fantastic sense of wholeness and well being. It lasted about six months then disappeared. I am trying to find that feeling again with Ekcart's help.

I can’t follow most of this. But I am feeling very much depressed. It’s chronic.

The individual doesn’t awaken.

Deep betrayal led me to my spiritual awakening. To understand the underlying need in every human man and women to be loved even though the expression of love is tainted with deep personal pain. To know thyself as both love and pain, light and dark. To just let go and just be, without ego or desire. To release thyself and enjoy moments in time without expectations.

i really came to the conclusion, due to how peaceful i feel lately, that i may be starting to transend. Not sure exactly but i feel very calm and clear without the usual worry i keep my mind cluttered with.

Right now I just feel lost lonely depressed lost jobs no friends ever since I started my journey, nothing excites me anymore at all, when I talk to someone I know they lying to me right away, when someone tries to be nice I can just know they’re fake and trying to get something out of me. It’s just weird and I have so many questions about life universe humans etc don’t see movies the same way I just know is fake

I had a personal tragedy that took me away from God. Over the years I had dreams and expierences that should have brought me back but I ignored them and always felt empty. Now that I have invited him back into my I feel full. Allow him in he wants you to know him.

I used to have a voice in my head (the other me is how I thought of it) One day I realised it had gone, and it has not returned in over 12/13 years. It went after some successful work on trauma.

Interesting how very easy most Westerners think enlightenment is. This is a consequence of not having studied in any depth. Either we think enlightenment is an ordinary worldly attainment, or we have to accept that masters such as the Buddha were quite inferior to ourselves, in terms of potential for awakening.

Sorry, but Sunyata does not mean spaciousness; it does mean emptiness, zero, or nothing. Etymology: From Sanskrit शून्यता (śūnyatā), from शून्य (śūnya, “zero, nothing”) + ता (-tā, “generalizing suffix”). Moreover, consciousness is not spacious; it's spaceless.

Spaciousness instead of Emptiness...that's brilliant.
indeed, the correct translation of Sanskrit SUNYATA would be "Empty of a fixed Essence", but because we are lazy beings, translators short cut Sunyata to Emptiness, leading to the non-sense Buddhism is a Nihilism, because Buddhism says everything is Empty. But truth is, everything is NOT empty (would mean that nothing exists, which is silly) but everything is without FIXED pre-existing Essence, and why ? because everything is just the OUTCOME of the complex interactions of multi-factors that shape everything (me, you, this table...), this is what Buddhism call "Pratitya-Samutpada" or "dependent origination" following OUTWARDS conditions.
Thus, there is no pre-existing Essence, the only pre-existing thing is the Formless Space (not empty as "nothing") that because it is formless can shape itself into ANY possible shapes (me, you, this table...). Truth, the term Emptiness ready is out of the point and mistaken by westerners brains, but spiritual teacher as Eckhart Tolle made it understandable by modern people and that's why his voice is so precious for our time...
