You are one of the very few people to do justice to a Sony phone review. You really are spot on in highlighting the strengths of this phone. The only point where I feel you are wrong is at the end when you compare prices with the Sony Alpha cams. That comparison is just not relevant coz for double the price you also get a full action packed smartphone, a gorgeous 4k display, Sony's reality audio, a capable gamer and a ton of other pluses. And finally as they say... no one phone is perfect, so I was hoping you should have mentioned that overheating issue that plagues this gem.

This phone is farking amazing! It is better than the iPhone 13 pro max I had before.I bought it right after I saw this video. The cameras are more professional and the light catching property is much more natural than the iPhones do. Sony is a bloody monster on the phone market which is so obvious, they're just expensive! So you guys want a premium phone for cheap? Forget these cheap thoughts and read the law of attraction book! I can't get enough of this phone, it is just too useful in daily life.❤

I bought xperia pro-i. It is one hell of the phone. Yes there is a learning curve how to take photos with it. But I learned a lot about how to take a quality picture and how to express your artistic side of photoshooting. I am not a pro but phone definatelly is. Pro 1 mark 4 is no different. Price?! Hard to get a phone with such superb specs bellow 1000,00.

I did some research and it's way more expensive to buy this Xperia from Europe and have it imported into my country than going to my nearest Apple Store and getting the 14 Pro (not max) 😂

It may not compute together mega range and saturated images for the common masses, but when they're using them to deliver parts of their precious live broadcasted games, that tells you not only how Sony's been in the imaging industry for ages, but how it simply isn't made for the basic bloke.

I'm tempted to switch from Samsung to sony the fact that this phone has expandable storage and a headphone jack is awesome

Good honest review, always had an Xperia as I like taking pictures but nothing professional. I'm getting some really nice pics but am struggling with focus on the 85mm lens on video. Interestingly, I hand down my phone's so my mum has the Xperia 1 that I replaced with the 4 so my 10 year old now has the ZX2, I showed her the basics in manual mode and she's now snapping some nice stuff. I think this is where it works for me, each phone is more capable. Was cool to use the ZX2 again though!

This phone OVER HEATS to dangerous level. Anything above 80 deg and it will shut off video cinema

I disagree that they aren't trying to compete with the bigger companies.

Sure the phone has certain things catered to a specific group, but it excels quite a bit at most other things too, battery life, gaming, display, speakers, etc..... which are all specs that do matter. It competes quite well with the high end phones from other companies like the S22U, albeit at a somewhat higher price.

well done to Sony for the features but unfortunately am going to return. mine. the heating up problem is worrying to the life of the battery. I hope next year theie offering will deal with these problems better

Hey man I love your videos a lot and I could really use your help.
I use a Pixel 4xl and really need a new phone. This battery life has Ben horrible. Battery life is the number 1 most important thing to me. I have about an $800 at maximum so the iPhone 13 Pro Max is not an option for me at the moment.
I am looking at the Pixel 6 Regular, or the iPhone 12 Pro, unless you have a better phone in mind for battery life and a half decent camera please let me know.
Otherwise, would you Pick the Pixel 6 or an iPhone 12 Pro?

so far I think ROG phones are 1000x better now with ip rating still with 6000 battery life goes to show sony needs to move to the next step been a japanese number 4 still bad in japanese culture , sony ps4 didn't do anything to save face, I just hope they change that finger print button on side to be on screen or a physical button I dont like the translucent finger print Reader because after a while it will fade and peel off. I preferred the XZ2 phone button at the back or Z5 button they were way better designs thus sony gave up on australian buyers in 2017 and we have to resort to online which is 80-100% likely to be fake chinese duplicates

Still on my XZ2, had it for five years. Think this phone MIGHT be the one I was waiting for. Think it was worth the wait. Is it waterproof like the XZ2? Or take photos underwater? Also is there a bundle with them SONY Noise Cancelling headphones (not earbuds) ? Or do I have to get separately. Does the slo' mo just record 5 seconds worth like the XZ2?
