In Vanguard, do T-bills end up in your settlement account upon maturity ? If yes, then how long does it take for the money to show up in that account ? I searched online and got mixed results about this. Some people said Vanguard takes longer to move cash into your settlement account after t bill maturity. Some said they could not see the money in that account for a few days after maturity. So I was hoping you could help. Perhaps make a video on this too.
ОтветитьVery much appreciated Jennifer !! You made navigating the VG site so easy.
ОтветитьRemind me, does Fidelity also have a 1K minimum buy/sell on treasuries? I've bought brokered CDs and Secondary T-Bills on VG before and like the filter functions but Vanguard user experience leaves much to be desired. They say they do this to deincentivize excessive trading.
ОтветитьI did find out something new in the Vanguard bond/notes purchase screen. After the quick search screen,I've always chosen the Treasuries next after seeing the current yields per length. In the following screen I've chosen Auction rather than secondary market. I didn't know that more options in length could be found bv just choosing the exact treasure yield in the quick search screen. Thanks for the tip! I don't really buy many bonds, at least before the end of last year.
ОтветитьThanks so much for your great work
ОтветитьExcellent video
ОтветитьPlease note that at Vanguard if you don't have a margin account you must have sufficient settled funds in your sweep account before you can purchase treasuries. That means if you transfer funds electronically from your bank to your Vanguard settlement fund, you must wait 7 days before placing your order due to a 7 day hold Vanguard places on these funds. Schwab does not have such a restriction, but Schwab's interest paid on its sweep accounts is extremely low.
ОтветитьThanks Jennifer!!!
