Love the video so far, but just dropping midway in to say: I attended 5 years of university and never got drunk, didn't drink at all in fact. It was half by choice (family history of alcoholism) and half I have an intense adverse reaction to any level of alcohol that caused me to become sick.

So even though these books are f*cked up, Ana not drinking a lot is one thing in them I can understand. From what I understand (forgive me my info is based on some summaries cause I refused to read them myself) the later books she almost constantly has alcohol on hand and if she objects to Grey doing anything he tries to ply her with s*x or booze. If you look from a critical perspective, there may have been a family history of alcoholism and Ana was more susceptible to addictive behaviors - like alcohol - and could explain why she stayed with Grey despite hating a good chunk of the relationship. I could write a whole essay on it right now... but I'm sleepy.

I’ve never read, watched or supported Fifty Shades etc. It glamorises a controlling relationship. Girl hasn’t even signed, aka agreed, to the contract and his weird conditions, and he’s following her and telling her what she can and can’t do.
