Japow has been a big challenge to me. Is 1-2 meters deep powder differing from these?
ОтветитьTried deep powder for the first time in the alps this year. I fell down and lost 1 of my rental ski in the 1m deep powder. I almost had a heartattack but luckily almost immediatly I managed to find it crawling uphill and poking with stick.
Ответитьwhat goggles is he wearing
ОтветитьSkiing in deep powder is not easy!
ОтветитьTry to ski in the powder rather on the powder.
ОтветитьGood job sir
Ответитьshow my skill
ОтветитьI live on the east coast this doesn’t even apply to me
ОтветитьAwesome - ty very much for this - can't wait to get out west and try this out.
ОтветитьLoved it!! Thanks
ОтветитьTja Jens, Har du kvar de Skalkläderna från Scott? Riktigt Snygga!
Ответитьthank you!
ОтветитьPowder is over rated. You're on holiday. Sleep in, relax, enjoy a good breakfast, do some yoga, check your email.
You can't ski if you can't see your skis. Wait until they get it groomed.
I love your videos and your mood man. Thank you !
Couple points I see differently: Holding hands too forward may be good for you but is not a general recommendation. and also I would initiate the turn with the legs rather than with the upper body being thrown towards the new direction, although I fully understand the how tempting it is in powder to start with the body as you popup.
I live in Jersey and when we got 2 feet of powder this year I skied down a hill at my house and when I tried to turn I went face first into the snow
ОтветитьI tried stopping in 2 feet of pow one time and went face first into the snow
ОтветитьGREAT tips! I love all of your tutorials, they are really good!!
Ответитьi have the same jacket :P
ОтветитьI really wish they had fat rocker skis when I was first learning to ski powder. It was all sinking and bunny hops. It was brutal on your thighs.
ОтветитьGreat teacher
ОтветитьWould be pretty boring watching people do short turn pole plants in movies
ОтветитьFirst of all, train your legs, because its much more tiresome to ski 🤣
ОтветитьDear Jens,
I did my first turns in the powder (well beside the groomed slope) and thx for your great video. However, I am not clear about the weight distribution especially during the turns...is it on both legs the same or is the outside ski the boss, like with carving on groomed slopes. And do you initiate the turn by a body weight forward movement or do you just "turn" the skis?
Tomorrow i will try again.... :-)
All the best, keep on going and stay healthy
Tom
Democrats love censorship. Republicans love freedom. What do you love?

ОтветитьU are great man !
ОтветитьIf you do not know how to ski yourself, do not teach!
ОтветитьI always have problems skiing crud because the snow keeps crossing my skis. What should I do?
Ответитьhow do I ski powder in my racing skis?
ОтветитьFresh powder is awesome...chopped powder after the sun starts thawing things out on the other hand....
Ответитьmaan I love your vids. I watch them when really want to ski. And you have shown me how to do 3's and backflips :)
ОтветитьGood vid
ОтветитьReally enjoyed the vid. Very simple yet helful and informative. Great job
ОтветитьI am 175 cm w, on the heavier side, i just bought the mindbender 108ti 179 cm , i am an advanced -expert skier that has had not too much experience on powder but would like to spend more time off piste and thats why i bought them. Do you think i made a mistake with the ski length?
ОтветитьSkiing powder is literally better than sex
ОтветитьEyes forward......... Tips downhill..... Knees over toes...... Hip over heels..... Hands in front....... Falling in powder is much easier on the body than falling on hard pack or groomed runs.....!
Ответитьi tired it! snow was up to my knees, fell down many times, mostly falling in a W figure position!
ОтветитьTook me a long time to realise. Speed is your friend. Imagine water skiing slowly, cant be done. Speed, sit lower, skis together 50/50 distribution of weight on both skis, use your pole plants to intiate the turns. go for it.
