Imagine 5x5 routine for a God. You need like 80-85% of your max per each set. What kind of weight you'd have to use? A continent?

I think this can explain why Kratos' still has to strain himself when opening heavy chests and giant doors. His body produces strength on it's own by virtue of his muscles, but to do godlike stuff, he needs to access his godly powers and exert himslef a proportionate amount. Same way Baldur doesn't crack the earth when he's stumbling around, but makes Kratos' fly with single punch when he exerts himself.

I like to think Kratos did teach some Spartan fighting to Atreus, without the, you know...breaking spirit thing ...
