Sometimes I just ask myself " Howthefuck, programmers can develop some high quality plants while there are people photo scanning stuff and getting worse results "

Anyone else loose the ability to "snap to floor" the END button at some point in tutorial after migrating Lighting Examples stuff? This has happened to me twice. Have not pinpointed which step is doing it.

Do you have a visual or written blueprint on creating the nodes? Or can you make individual videos for each set; ex. Character interaction, movement, weapons, ammo.

Great video keep it up!!

This tutorial is still very excellent at the beginning of May 2023. A few minor things have been updated and changed since its release. All changes seem to have been answered in the comments. This series of tutorials seems to be the best place to get started in UE5. Attention to detail, simple step by step breakdowns, and repetition on learned tasks make this a 10/10.

I'm literally stuck at importing the project files, no less than 5 minutes in. And when I do get it to load, it doesn't show the same stuff you have from the asset pack loaded

FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT CONTROL THE CHARACTER:
You don't need to push the controller button. You simply have to change play settings from "Simulate" to "Selected Viewport" in three dots on the right side of play panel.

It's worth noting that hardware shadow raytracing will also give amazing shadows without baking unfortunately though you won't get that FPS boost (probably quite the opposite lol). Also there's a slight snag with hardware shadow ray tracing and nanite but it's often a quick fix with the console command `r.RayTracing.Shadows.EnableTwoSidedGeometry 0`. Obviously for performance and to keep from unnecessary performance loss, you should bake any static lights.

Thanks for the awesome tutorial Unreal Sensei. I made a tiny change to your landscape material so I could paint visibility, I just added a "Landscape Visibility Mask" and connected it to the "Make Material Attributes" opacity mask node in the M_Landscape material. Posting here in case anybody else wants to add an awesome cave 😄

How do you only light an interior without windows? Instead of adding a ton of different lights, I just want to add a single light that lights up the entire interior. The skylight doesnt seem to work once there is a ceiling.
