Orient make by far the best VFM mechanical watches.
ОтветитьI have the mako 3 everyone chooses the little dot markers I just wanted to be different😂
ОтветитьWent with the Mako II in blue because of the brushed bracelet and unique numeral dial. I was looking at a $600 Hamilton or a Seiko but i find the Seiko to bulky for my taste and for the price of $140 there is just no better choice then a Mako II or Ray II. For the price of the Hamilton i can buy a Ray and a Mako plus a bunch of straps and 2 nice solid oyster bracelets.
ОтветитьThanks for this! The bezel and size of the ray 2 make it the winner!
ОтветитьOrient > Seiko
ОтветитьMeaning to say kano and mako 3 are one?
ОтветитьI love the style of the ray 2 itself but it would be nice if it was offered with the Mako bracelet as an option
ОтветитьWhich among these will be the best for for a smaller 6.5" wrist?
ОтветитьMy new Orient Triton (Green) arrived today and what a great watch it is 👌
ОтветитьSon gave me a present of Ray 2 a couple of weeks ago. So punches above it weight. That sun burst dial!
Has been of my wrist for most of that time. Ordering a blue leather and a Nato strap strap to take care of the bracelet situation.
Are the straps of all watches compatible with each other? So can I use the strap of the Orient Mako 3 for the Orient Ray 2?
ОтветитьThe kamasu every day of the week
ОтветитьThanks for this very helpful direct comparison. I have a Citizen Promaster Eco-Drive. and I'm looking for an automatic to balance it. I love all of these, and I still can't decide, but I'm leaning Mako II as it is the most different from by Promaster.
ОтветитьOrient Triton/Neptune......
ОтветитьThanks for your review. Watching from Freo always. Just wanted your help. I'm confused on the Ray and Kamasu. Is the Kamasu watch lume a shade too yellow?
Thanks,
Arun
Mako with the simple band from the Ray for me.
ОтветитьThank you very much for this video. You help me a lot!
ОтветитьI have the Ray II as well. It is the cheapest watch in my small collection by far. It is also my favourite - I wear it more than any other. It also keeps superb time - a gain of only 2.5 seconds a day. This watch is an absolute gem.
ОтветитьYou answered all of the questions I had perfectly. Thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьOf all four I think I’d go with the Kano but the Ray 2 is amazing 🤩
ОтветитьBlue Kamasu of course ....
ОтветитьThank you for all the details about each watch, especially the prices!
ОтветитьThe third one on the first image is not the Ray III, its the Mako III
ОтветитьThe red Kamasu is a stunner. The green one looks pretty good too. Have you picked one up yet?
ОтветитьQuick question will the bracelet of the orient mako fit the Kano?
ОтветитьI'm returning my loreo submariner as the time is always completely wrong even if I reset it and Idk much about watches so I don't know what's wrong with it. I think I'm going to spend the extra money and get a Ray II because I know it'll be good and it looks stunning
ОтветитьGot blue Ray II & loved it so much, ended up getting sunburst version as well
ОтветитьJust ordered the Ray II in black dial, it will be my first automatic watch, I have high hopes
ОтветитьDefinitely the best "Brosnan Seamaster" alternative. Great video BTW!
ОтветитьGreat video! Do you know if the bezels with the Mako 2 and Mako 1 are interchangeable?
ОтветитьJust ordered a Mako II. I really wanted Arabic numerals on the dial. Don’t really mind the poor bracelet since almost I never leave my watches on the steel bracelet. I hate the indentations on the bezel but I’ve already ordered a custom one from DLW watches along with a 12 hour bezel.
ОтветитьMako 3; love that looooong minute hand.
ОтветитьI just got my orient ray ii in blue today. I put on a nato james bond strap and it looks so nice man
ОтветитьMy Blue Ray II should be here this week-end. Have an SKX013 but it wears too small on my wrist. Was going to go for an 007 but at the price the Ray II is a no brainer. Better movement and hacking put it ahead, but the blue dial swung it. I'll see how I get on with the bracelet, but already have my eye on a tapered alternative.
Ответитьjust bought Ray II last week. Accuracy using Atomic App =(+) 0-1 second day
ОтветитьI bought the Blue Ray II based on ypur video here but my clasp is larger thicker quatity with spring push pins on sides, sadly the bezel or maybe its the chapter ring is slightly left of centre, being misaligned.
ОтветитьJust bought 1 used orient RAY II for $100.
the crystal and the aluminum bezel was scratched badly.
I swap the crystal to sapphire, and swap the bezel with the coin edge bezel mod so I can use the SKX bezel insert which is made of Ceramic.
I only spent in total of $190 to get the "Un-scratchable" Orient RAY II
With 2020 price on Ray ii/ Mako ii below US $130 I bought one of each. I do like the magenta dial and gunmetal with gold accents Ray III models. I may get the latter as it is available for $200 to $210.
ОтветитьThanks for the comparison video. I couldn't agree more. I also went with the blue ray II. Added a strapcode bracelet and mineral crystal. Couldn't be happier. I've had it for 2 years now and I still love the way it looks.
ОтветитьI have the ray with the two crowns (black), the III with the red bezel on a leather strap (I like it so much, I ordered yesterday the blue version w/ss steel bracelet) and the diver I like the most and you did not mention it, the Triton (blue). Since I have larger hands out of the three the watch that gets the most time is the Kano (Ray III). My favorite though is the Triton; great design but a little heavy for daily wear.
ОтветитьIf only the Ray 2 came in an XL version, around 44mm. It's just a bit too small for my 8 inch wrists (for my taste). Still a great looking watch.
ОтветитьTriton - the cost isnt too much more.
ОтветитьRay II + saphir. And the seiko ff. Both in my collection
ОтветитьOrient Blue Ray II always. I have it for 3 years now and I love it!
ОтветитьLet's see,. Ugliest Model Check,. Boyish Blue Check,. No Sapphire Check,. Is it small enough for my 3" wrist? Check.
And there you have it folks.
Picked up the Ray 2 for $200 Canadian. Great watch!
ОтветитьDoes the ray II looks or feels big on your wrist?
ОтветитьAwesome review! I think the Mako 3 is a sapphire, which can be a deal braker for some!
ОтветитьI like the dial markers of the Mako III however it appears from videos and pictures that the sunburst dial on the Ray II plays with the light far more. From seeing them all in person did you notice a difference in the reflectivity of the blue dial?
