When I had my midlife crisis I'd listen to nin found this. I was going mad at the time. In my mind this soundtrack made me think of leviathan Awakening in the sea and headed to the land and destroying all the cities. So big the military couldn't do anything to stop it. A 7 headed dragon. Search the bloop recording science detected a sound in the deep only a living creature could make but we don't know of any being large enough to make that kind of sound.

Playing the updated Quake on my PC these last few weeks, forgot how good the OST was especially track 6. Forgot how fun it was to lure enemies into shooting a diff enemy and getting them to fight each other, zombies were great fun for this.

This sound track is amazing, for some reason I always thought Quake had a soundtrack like Quake 2.

definitely near the downward spiral era. quake main theme sounds like a b-side.

My family used to play this disc during halloween to provide a bit more atmosphere for trick or treaters.

Wow. I always wondered why quake soundtrack sounded so good. turns out it's nine inch nails. Damn what a amazing soundtrack. Wish more modern fps games focused on music because it really helps with immersion

This is a masterpiece of a soundtrack. It matches perfectly with the games ambience. Used to play it in the car aswell. Rocks so much on a night road trip

In general conversation, talking about music, nine inch nails came up - i mentioned this soundtrack.... he had never played quake,...never heard it at all. He loves NIN, but i was just dumbfounded that a 39 year old missed out on playing quake 1.

id Software killing it in the music department started way back when.

I can't tell you how many times I was listening to any other Nine Inch Nails album and I heard this particular aesthetic.

My aunt's ex-husband would let me play this game when I was a kid. Had to play it muted (for some reason). I missed out on the soundtrack! Was Trent Reznor a fan of Doom?? Spectacular soundtrack.
