I don’t smell bad on my pits or feet. most likely because i shower literally every day and sometimes even twice but i still get told I smell bad by my brother and one of my friends. idk what to do somebody please help me

I stopped wearing deodorant several years ago and now I regularly hear from my girlfriend that I smell and I just make sure to tell her it’s my pheromones 😊 and then she says yeah right. I tell her it’s how we would have been attracted to each other as hunter gatherers. And again she says yeah right.

What about the rapid oxidation of lipids, how do you combat that?

(I.E. In the situation where you just showered with soap, dryed well, put on antipersperant deoderant, and 5 minutes later you already smell like rancid oil (oxidised lipids).)

I feel like every people have their own body odor, whether if its strong or weak one. It's not a bad thing imo, it's like our name, giving an identity of somebody because if you notice.. each person have totally different odor. If you say it's because of our gene.. well I guess it does make sense, because if you notice.. people from the same country usually have similar base of body odor.. like people from India, Africa, China, etc. But I also agree that our daily products have an impact on our body odor.. that's why usually we have a rather similar body odor with our main family member than our countrymates, cause we use mostly same body products and some have similar diet.. even though that's not always the case

I was astounded when I first smelled body odor. It was in high school when I moved to the States. I had no idea that humans were capable of producing that kind of stench.

It’s always so scary and I always feel ashamed if my body odor is really bad bc a lot of people can make fun of you bc of your body odor.

I used to shower every day with aleppo soap to remove underarm smell, but it would work only temporarily and I'd just smell again the next day. So I tried shaving underarm hair and it did help a lot in eliminating body odor. However, after reading James Hamblin's <Clean>, I neither shave nor shower and I never smell unless I'm sick or lack exercise. It seems that the microbiomes on my skin rebalance and adjust themselves without my having to clean or moisturize.

I think deodorant antiperspirants make problems worse. The armpits should sweat naturally otherwise it's going to sweat and smell more.
