Congrats on 10 years!
ОтветитьGuuuurl!!!! Congratulations! All of the ❤️ 😍
ОтветитьEngagement for the engagement god!
ОтветитьTen years! Wow! I've enjoyed the Council of Geeks and I wish you well for the next ten years!
ОтветитьCongrats, what a beautiful journey. A big hug.
ОтветитьCongrats on 10 years! You were a breath of fresh air in mid-2010s nerd spaces for me. Here's to 10 more.
ОтветитьAt first I didn't like your queer content, but my curiosity got the better of me and you helped me in my own journey.
ОтветитьI'm so glad you made this! It was such fun to get the inside look of stuff I'd only known through the videos and occasional comments. You've always been an insightful, thoughtful voice on things I care about too. I have fingers (and toes) crossed for the new season of Doctor Who.
ОтветитьBeen here since early 2017. Can now proudly say I've gotten most of my family and many friends on the same bandwagon - to the extent that whenever a new Chibnall Doctor Who episode aired, one of us would immediately say "aight let's see what Council of Geeks has to say about it". This channel has literally become an unwavering staple of my entertainment and intellectual engagement. Always been fabulous, to this day and onwards. Thank you :)
Favourite moment: "What the flux just happened"
Congratulations on 10 years! It was about 4 years back I came across your channel regarding Dr Who. I'll admit I am biased as I recognized you as we used to work together many years ago in New York. Always enjoyed talking with you about geeky stuff. Love the articulate and insightful content.
ОтветитьTo answer your question: I spend a lot of time
ОтветитьCongratulations on making it this long, I can’t really imagine what the journey must’ve felt like. Also, since it’s probably not far off from now, a preemptive congrats for when you hit the 60k subs mark!
I haven’t been here nearly as long as some — what was it, late 2016 I think? So roundabouts six years? — and admittedly I’ve not been the most consistent in viewing or comments on your content. Nor have I probably always been the most tactful, and while I don’t recall such things in specific detail I have felt after some times that I didn’t show the most consideration with my word choice. Or shown my ignorance in some areas. For all that I apologise, and while I hope not to make any flubs I can’t promise that I won’t; I’m only human, and I try to improve daily hopefully forever. But… I do appreciate what I learned from you and your content and will be around, on the fringes of the COG at least, for the foreseeable future.
In any case, it’s been enlightening to see the history of the channel (and how it was in conjunction with everything else you were up to) summarised. I feel even more appreciation for you and the content you’re making knowing a bit of the journey, and I feel honoured that I caught even a glimpse of that going forward.
Good luck Vera, and may this be a thing for years to come still.
I loved when you came out. I had just come out myself to my wife as gender fluid. Your Vera channel came first for me and I already knew before you came out you had this channel. It’s been and continues to be awesome to see you grow as an amazing human. Congrats on this great achievement! Much love to you. —Josefina
ОтветитьCongratulations! I found you via the Gareth Roberts scandal, and have followed ever since. Love your content and your honesty, … not to mention being able to have a bird’s eye view of your “transition”. Keep up the good work. Here’s to the next 10! 🍻
ОтветитьCongrats on your 10 years! I cannot even imagine my channel still being around after a decade :p
Ответитьcongratulations!!! also LOVE the earrings. So cute!
ОтветитьI found you randomly in 2018 when you were in the midst of pumping out so much material. Haven't stopped watching ever since. I love what you do. Happy 10th anniversary. Looking forward to the 20th already :),
ОтветитьI know this might be cheesy to say but what honestly got me to subscribe, and then keep coming back to your videos, is you. you're always such a bright part of my day whenever I see an upload and the way you are so enthusiastic and expressive is what keeps me watchin all the way through. It's wonderful when you find a channel where it's the person that makes you stick around, with the added benefit of being all about fun topics and interests!
ОтветитьWe watch because of you. You are a delightfully honest and direct person. Your viewpoints are extremely well thought out and verbalized. Here;s to another ten years of great viewing! ❤️
Ответить❤️ thank you for all you do!
ОтветитьI actually found your Vera Wyld channel first, looking for tips n tricks on how to pass since it's when I came out as MTF transgender haha. Eventually I found this channel, and loved the videos on here even more! You have a lovely personality, and I'm glad it's going somewhere. Happy 10 years!!! 😊 🎉
ОтветитьI'm not sure when I first saw a Council of Geeks video, but I think it was between 2016 and 2018, before Capaldi's era. I saw fan essays on Doctor Who and her science fiction and I noted hints and occasional discussions of LGBTQIA+ topics. I liked that you gave fair, thorough analysis, without the hate-mongering that was growing at the time. The more I saw videos from here, the more I liked, and somewhere in there, I subscribed. Also around then, you began giving more overt coverage of queer topics and you had begun giving more expression, "switching out the look" and coming out. Cool! I'm here for both still. I like that you have strong opinions and I like that you sometimes challenge my own opinions. Keep up the good work. It is very much needed these days.
Ответить@Council of Geeks You're one of the people / places online where it feels good, welcoming. That is especially needed lately. Cheers, Salud.
ОтветитьThis was wonderful! Helped me figure out that I found you summer of 2020, through your video('s) about she-who-must-not-be-named. Awesome to see what I missed before that and can now go back and watch!! Thank you for everything that you do ❤️
ОтветитьCongrats on 10 years!
ОтветитьI think I started watching you just after your coming out video, I may have seen one or two videos from you before then. A lot of what you said about being gender fluid clicked with me and I said to myself "holy sh*t! Is that what I am?" I came out to my wife (who sadly passed last year) soon after that, and finally came out publicly in 2020. I think I mentioned this before in one of your live streams, but you probably don't remember, but I did want to thank you for helping me realize what I was.
ОтветитьCongratulations on 10 years! I've followed you for probably 5 or 6 of them? I think what keeps us engaged as your viewers is your friendly and charismatic demeanor, your enthusiasm, and the fact that you obviously put so much thought and effort into every single video - even the "rambling" ones.
I started watching for the Doctor Who content (and wholeheartedly agree that Wilf and Donna are the best Doctor companions ever!) and stayed the authenticity.
Here's to many more years!
I enjoy your insightful and erudite comments and commentary. You have also massively educated me on trans issues. Thank you and congratulations. Xx
ОтветитьIronically enough the first video I saw of yours was your video about how the doctor could never be a woman. And I found your "response to yourself" video on it to be super interesting as an exercise in evaluating old biases
ОтветитьCongratulations on 10 years and awesome awesome 10 years it has been for you Here's to the next 100 . And as to the next series you might end up doing doing after Babylon Babylon 5 Maybe you guys should do quantum leap or The original stargate SG1 Anyways you can congrats and thanks for all the great wonderful content over the years ears and in the coming yearsAnyways you can congrats and thanks for all the great wonderful content over the years and To the years to come.
ОтветитьI found your channel when i start watching dw and I'm so glad it happened.
Thank you so much, you will never know how much it help me, not with dw but with everything. Even thinking about it makes me cry.
And obviously I wish you 10 more years!
Congrats on the milestone!
ОтветитьWow congratulations on 10 years!! I've been watching since about 2017 I think and have loved seeing your content for now 5 years. Came for the doctor who reviews, got hooked properly with the queer themes, stayed for everything else ❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьHow Have I not seen this American Dr. Who video!!!!!! My life is incomplete....i must find it!!!!!!!
ОтветитьCongratulations on ten years! Love your videos; thank you so much for sharing!
ОтветитьThank you for making this video. Such a joy to watch. I've only found your channels last year, so it was nice to learn about what came before that. Stay beautiful and keep making great content.
ОтветитьFascinating! Congrats! Thanks you for the decade and this history!
ОтветитьCongratulations on 10 years, Vera! It's been awesome to see you grow for as long as I've been a fan and it's just great to be able to see this journey unfold!
Keep up the awesome work and thanks for being yourself!
Awfully late to this party but thanks for the history and congrats on the 10 years! I remember when you took off your cap to show us your rainbow hair. And the Doctor Who April Fools video was beyond hilarious, still one of my favorites from you. Thanks for being you, being honest and true to yourself and us, and providing balanced, nuanced context. Here’s to the next 10 years and beyond! 🍹 🍺 🍷
ОтветитьI don't know exactly when I first found your channel, but at least a couple years ago. Before the pandemic, anyway. I don't remember what video it was exactly, but I looked over in my recommended and saw "Oh, cool Drag-Queen Auntie type character being snarky about Doctor Who. I'll watch that!" What I saw was a combo of similar interests, intelligent humor, and flamboyance--and I was totally down for that.
I subscribed by like the second video of yours I watched, somewhere around then--and haven't looked back since. TEN YEARS?! I had no idea! I knew you had a big archive but...wow! Congrats! :)
Really enjoyed this!
ОтветитьThis is really interesting on the history of the channel, and who the people with the chestburster and lightsaber were. Don't always agree with views of the episodes of the good Doctor, but always have the greatest respect for how you present arguments and the quality of the discussions. Came over here a while ago due to links from Jessie Gender, stayed due to the high quality of the content.
ОтветитьHonestly watching this a year after you posted....still probably hits the same. I started watching over a year ago now, and the first video I watched was on a day I really needed to hear that sign off and it makes me smile every time to hear it. Thank you for doing what you do :)
