Ok so this was fun, what you should’ve done though, is given him the melody line and see what he could’ve done without the harmonic structure already given. As a jazz musician we see people pay over chord ideas all the time, but having them create under a melody really opens their harmonic genius.

Why does he play unisono instead of the second voice a minor third apart in the intro riff ... love that diminished sound.
Probably cause the fingering would be a mess ... I'd have to practice this for days to get that up to speed

Jesus's way of learning songs is how I learn. A lot of ear training but perfect pitch does help (I have relative pitch).
