Ok, but when I turn off the water to the toilet it starts to leak out of the valve onto the floor. Do I replace that valve too? How do I do that?

So my toilet’s flapper does not stay open long enough to drain the bowl. I replaced the flapper and the new one has a weight. I can not figure out the length of the chain with the weight so the flapper closes too fast. Help!

Dude! I watched this video years ago but tonight I had a running toilet in a residents room I care for and maintenance doesn’t get in until tomorrow, I remembered this video and took a look in the tank to see if I could figure it out and I did! It was an easy fix but without watching this video I would have never even thought, “hmm maybe I know something about that let me look” So thankyou so much!!!❤❤

Hey Dad, how do I fix the toilet making noise? The toilet is making a loud noise when it is flushing. Sounds like a banging sound. So I nearly closed the water valve so that It could have low water pressure while it is filling the water tank. Now it doesn't make the noise. But it takes a couple of minutes to fill the tank. Could you help how to fix?

My upstairs toilet continuously runs. It actually started to cause a leak in the ceiling below it. I am really hoping that this works. I've been having to turn the water off after I use it each time

But what if it's not the flapper? Mine has 2 chains, 1 on the flapper, one on the black cylindrical thing on the left. My tank will fill up and the extra runs down into that tube in the middle and just keeps running.

Living in north america, are these flippers "universal"? enough to the point where i can just buy any on like amazon and it would fit in my toilet?

Oh thank God, I keep having this problem! And my immediate thought just now after it happening again was "lemme check Dad, How Do I"

I'm 56 years old & lost my Dad last year. He was my fix it guy. The first person I called to do anything & everything. He was going to fix my running toilet when he lost the use of his hands due to ALS so I tried to fix it myself but its never been quite right. The flapper never quite fit & every 8-10 flushes it stays up & I have to lift off the back & push it down. Is there such a thing as a universal flapper that fits all toilets?? I've bought 3 different ones now & they are all just off a tiny bit.

I put gold fish in there to see if they get sucked down the toilet.
