I would have put a plastic liner on the inside with drain holes before adding soil, most Pallets are treated for insects, mold etc .. esp in Australia with CCA treatments ..

Pallets don't last long outside if left untreated. That will rot in a couple of years.

Nicely put together and presented video. However, this is not a new idea...people in the UK and I expect other countries, have been using modified pallets for this purpose and flowers for many years...for the home and the allotment. Still enjoyed the video.

I have worked in warehousing. I would never do this unless it was a brand new and untreated pallet. Most pallets at some point get all sorts of nasty chemicals spilled on them. Pallets are reused hundreds of times and you never know what has been on them

Nope. Just adding more food for termites. This just isnt feasible. Rotting wood. Termites. Did we lose our ways of using pots?... You know the things made for growing plants. Or even the free route, planting in the ground?

Only one thing i'd suggest, If that unit will be outdoors in the weather, you should use Titebond 2 or 3 on every joint, As that pallet wood starts to absorb moisture the brads will let loose, Or 1 1/4 deck screws will stand the outside. Great idea for sure.

Obviously American as people's been doing this for ten years in the uk .just a shame wood and pallets cost a fortune now when used to be free. You can make sheds and fences wall cladding flooring with pallets

I love how videos like these show people dismantling pallets so easy with a hammer. Certainly pallets in the UK they are held so strong you need to cut them apart!
