I just keep saying no biting . I slip my hand in her mouth and I don’t move my hand then I say no biting and releases my hand .

I don't know if he's stubborn or just stupid but normally when i give them a small smack on the nose (nothing too hard, it's just to make them uncomfortable) that usually makes them realize not to do it. But this dog just doesn't get it.

I have a one year old German Shepherd puppy, ever since we adopted him when he was really young he had been nipping, if you know big dogs they usually have really sharp teeth. At first it wasn’t bad and we overlooked it, as he got older it got worse and at one point my arm was covered in marks. We knew we had to snap him out of it, especially because we have many kids in our neighborhood and our dog is very cute so easily kids want to pet him,but he was our first dog so we didn’t know how to. On Halloween when he was just about 7 months he nipped at a girls Halloween costume which could’ve gone terribly wrong. It got bad to the point he’d nip at faces. He wasn’t mean he was just a very excited puppy, but at that size he was really strong. No matter the tips we got none worked. It was until he was about 11 months that my mom brought home two spray bottles from her work event saying maybe it would help him train better, because we know he doesn’t like spraying water such as sprinklers and others he only likes water to swim in. We sprayed him every time he nipped, and it broke him in two days. It might not work for your dogs but it did for mine I would definitely recommend to try it.

LMAO! You are certifiable ;) First that is a Lab. A retriever. You never ever let a pup bite on something and pull!!!!! Later on you may want him to give you the duck, not gut it in a fight over it! It will also teach him to be hard mouthed and crush game! Not good! When he mouths, a whack on the nose and a firm no will solve the problem right away. Apparently you never watched a bitch train her pups. A lot of the time it involves pup blood! They don't play about it! And no serious dog trainer ever uses treats for any reason, period.

I literally bonked or hold my puppies mouth shut and say "no biting" he stopped biting me few days after. Not cruel or inhuman. Sometimes its ok to be a little physical.

I change my clothes and our 7 month old DDB starts jumping and biting. I just want to get to the kitchen and make a morning coffee. I find it unfeasible to stop that second and train. I am fortunate because I don't work. But a person with a daily away from home job would not be able to just stop and spend time training. It would be interesting to see a day in the life type of situation. How do deal with a puppy while running your every day life.

Prong collars are not painful? I have no idea why you say that. I've used it on all my dogs, and it just puts even pressure on the neck muscles, because when there is a force pulling the dog bag, it instinctively tugs against it. The prong collar closes when they tug against the lead, and the even pressure lets them know to stop moving forward.

Also, I've straight up fucking worn one for dog play. If I can get my ass rammed while they tug the lead to the prong collar I WORE without pain, im sure the dog is fine LMFAO

I just got my puppy last week (Aussie) she is only 9 weeks old and she is biting like a 4 month old. I push her away so, she jumps to me just to bite. I wonder what she will be like when she really starts teething

E collars are not ment to hurt the dog, they say that they are ment to be set to where it catches the dogs attention and to try it on yourself
