I've never heard somebody 'get' me like this. I didn't even realize how much I liked planning my binges and then my recovery from the binge (i.e. diet). Whoa.
ОтветитьI'm just tired
ОтветитьAn hour ago 😭😭😭
Ответитьgreat video
ОтветитьGosh I've never knew my name is Rebecca!!
ОтветитьWell your 10min summary of the thoughts and behaviors of someone who is suffering from ED / binge eating is spot on. It is exactly whats going on in my head all the time. You've done a good job understanding this issue and laying it out for ppl who aren't familiar with the matter
ОтветитьIdk why but think I have the - one I did this o should get a treat, and h I worked today now I should get a treat. Like I do anything I derserve a reward 😅
ОтветитьThis is my favorite video about binge-eating by far
Ответитьi just found this channel and all you said(even tho i may be a man) feels extremely relatable. Thank you, you and rebecca, for sharing this with us.
ОтветитьThis is absolutely the best video I've seen on this issue - thank you!
ОтветитьI had to pause this every ten second. Speechless. Holy shit. Felt stuck, even with a therapist, thank you so much. Thank you.
ОтветитьHello Rachel. I am Naomi Ukadike, I couldn’t have stumbled across a better video than this, I have been struggling with binge eating/overeating for since I was in fourth grade when I didn’t have any friends,So many things that you pointed out in the video resonated with me and I would like to hear more and learn more about how to stop this disease, bc no matter how much I try, I can not stop thinking about food not stop buying food, even when I’m not hungry. When I eat food, I am totally out of control and look crazy at times. I need help……
ОтветитьWhen I'm having fun with friends I don't feel that hungriness, the urge to binge until I'm actually hungry, so that means that I need to find ways to have fun or be entertained. Do you have any ideas?
Ответить"The solution to that is not to try to use willpower to stop yourself from eating, the solution as I see it is how you can add in real fun and excitement and adventure into your life" 👏👏👏
This is life changing, thank you very much.
I feel so understood wow
ОтветитьHi, I’m Cheryl and I’m a binge eater
ОтветитьThis really made me emotional as it all felt so familiar 😢 I really want to change
ОтветитьThis is essentially the problem discussed from a neuroendocrinological POV in THE HACKING OF THE AMERICAN MIND.
Basically, Rebecca’s parents were conditioned to equate pleasure with happiness and they conditioned her the same way by rewarding her with hedonic experiences to resolve her stress, ie, regulate her emotions, ie, achieve contentment.
Everyone wants to go to heaven but not many know how to get there.
You did an amazing job describing this
ОтветитьI think using a story is a genius idea. Thank you
ОтветитьNo one ever described it this clearly
ОтветитьThis video is life changing at this time in my life. Thank you so much
ОтветитьHi Rachel, your advice really resonated with me and I stopped obsessing a few weeks ago. I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been according to a blood test I took today and I’m so much happier too!!!!
Ответитьreally liked this video. I'm a guy, but feel like I'm experiencing similar problems with dieting right now. Just found your channel, gonna dig around a bit more :)
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьAm I the only one who put the kettle on to have a cup of hot chocolate with this video. I don't see it as a disorder, even though it is. Only because its not noticed by the amount of food I eat but in the body getting bigger and bigger because I am exhausted and look to food for energy. I am over the diet and need a healthy gut.
Ответитьdamn, no feeling of anger just describes me
ОтветитьThank you for an excellent video. I think stress is my trigger. I do not berate myself for overeating, but I do use it to comfort myself.
ОтветитьHow have I not watched this sooner you are describing me. Even the weight lost in how many weeks to the clothes I will wear. I have been on a diet nearly my whole adult life and I still struggle everyday and am still overweight. Everything revolves around food. It is draining but thank you for this video. I know it is not just me that deals with these thoughts every single day.
ОтветитьIm so Rebecca i feel ofended right now
Ответить💜💜💜To anyone reading this,you are enough,you're beautiful,loved and stay strong. Have a wonderful day/night.❤🎉❤❤❤🎉❤❤❤
Ответитьthis is such a good video, i found it very relatable and insightful.
ОтветитьYea definitely sums me up, hopeful that medication can help so I'll see how that goes.
Thank you for this, you're brutally honest however extremely compassionate and supportive. At least that's how I chose to view it haha.
Have a great day. ❤
the solution is to have fun and excitement in your life 🏃🏻♀️
ОтветитьI’m Rebecca if u even care
ОтветитьYou are hungry all the time because of S U G A R
ОтветитьI can so relate to all of this!!!
ОтветитьI will stop over eating for 4 days
ОтветитьI could watch this video a million times. Thank you so much😅
ОтветитьThanks for the subtitles! My ears couldn’t keep up with the speaking speed.
ОтветитьMounjaro/Zepbound saved me! It literally turned off all food noise and I finally felt normal and ate like everyone else! It saved my life!!!
Ответитьbest video so far that I've watched on this topic. all the talks that only focus on food and diet and regulation miss this point entirely: that we binge eat because we want to distract from something else, mainly emotions... thank you for making this 🙏
ОтветитьSoy esa
Ответить🙏🏻
Ответитьi binge because I am scared of being hungry and sick and tired
ОтветитьThank you. All the best wishes, Rachael!
ОтветитьAll the things you say all desribed me words to words. I feel like my inner world just came out. Thank you so much for this you made me notice why i have an obsession with food.
ОтветитьAn incredibly amazing insight into my 75 year old brain. I worked in mental health for 35 years, did many bouts of therapy for years. But....here i am. I do have successes dealing with my disordered eating but it never lasts long. Food takes up SO MUCH SPACE in my brain.
ОтветитьI could resonate with every word. I’ve spent a lot of time working on my PTSD and now it’s clear that I need to work on my relationship with food and emotional regulation.
ОтветитьOmg it’s my biography
