Miller chairs are also 4x more expensive than the premium dxracer chairs how is that a fair comparrison?

I also think it’s important to consider the platform.. You don’t need the same position on a console with controller.
I get stiff from sitting up with my feet down all the time. Playing on a 71” screen with a playstation, i was looking for a compact reclining chair with footrest, that i can easily put aside when i need the space. Gamingchair seemed a good choice. Are they really that bad?😅

Honestly at this point you should know better that almost anything advertised as "gamer tech" is going to be garbage more like than not. They take something crappy, give it some god awful looking appearance and mark up the price to a ridiculous level and it breaks in six months to a year.

Isn't the very distinction simply a marketing fabrication to make office chairs cool for teenage boys? And obviously, since teenage boys are the customers, you can relax the attention to quality. I doubt that there's anything more to it than that.

I still remember the days when most office chairs barely had any adjustment options, hard surfaces and low backrests. It was fine. If you absolutely need a maximum ergonomic chair, it is YOU who is doing something wrong!!!!

- don't be a sack of potatoes in any chair.
- Be active. Change your position often.
- Take frequent leg-stretching breaks.
- Don't fall for the nonsense idea that the best chair will let you shit for days without negative effects.

I restored and modded a DXracer chair I got for a good price. Raised it by 4cm and did some other hacks. Best office + gaming chair I have ever had. I'm not going to waste 500 bucks on a piece of gear that is promoting to forget about posture and health.

Ergonomics is just another word for "a method to extent the abuse of your body". Do not fall for that snake oil of a thousands bucks worth of worthless tilting, breathing, supporting, flexing plastic junk that will be landfill in a couple of years. That is just stupid and stop whining about your back you utter snowflake!!! Take more walks... they are free!!!

I find myself unfortunately in the position of someone who does sit more inside a chair, so I want something like that preferably plush, with proper adjustable armrests so my elbow can be level with my desk but I just can’t seem to find a middle ground that’s good for both sides of wanting good sitting health, but still maintaining the possibility for a lazy sitting style.

Sorry if this isnt the best place to ask, but figured I would try.

I had a pretty bad accident that makes sitting upright in a chair rather painful. So sitting at a desk has been something I have to do minimally. My chair is old and not great, so I've been looking to replace it. The main thing I need is just for the butt cushion to be quite soft, and enough room for easy position adjustment. I've considered just getting a recliner because of this, but there has to be a better option than that. I need something that is soft and somewhat spacious, as i need to readjust my seating position very frequently, so I know I should be looking office chairs. I'm just not sure where to start. If anyone here has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. :)

I think the main difference is, how many gaming chairs manage to last past say 5 years? Most will have the faux leather peeling, the arm rests failing, the seating going flat etc etc. I'm pretty happy with my GT Omega chair as it seems to about the same quality as any other (steel frame, cold foam etc) but was £220 rather than £300-500. Now after half a decade however the seat is starting to go flat, all the seams in the seating have rippedthrough the faux leather.
To be fair, If I can get another seat for it I'd happily sit in for another half a decade. My sitting posture although not great doesn't result in back aches and seems to work with most chairs. The reason for me to go for an office chair is that they actually seem to last. There's Steelcase and Herman Miller chairs in their 'teens' that functionally are still the same as a new one, and they come with warranties that back that up. Gaming chairs mostly seem to be 2-3 years of warranty (warranty that doesn't cover pretty much everything that will go wrong because they'll write it down to normal wear and tear even when it isn't)

My issue is that I just can't get comfortable in an "office" chair. I've had a $2k Herman Miller Embody. I hated it. The relatively hard thin back is uncomfortable. I need something more substantive behind me. Currently looking at the Evo and hoping it can give me the best of both worlds.

Today I learned that I am a female streamer.
I own both a Steelcase Titan Evo and a (used) Steelcase Leap V1. I switch between the two in my day at the office namely because I often sit perrched up in the chair or otherwise with my feet not on the ground which proper ergonomic chairs essentially prevent - even though it's healthier to be changing positions as such.

I aim to replace the leap V1 with the Herman Miller Embody in several years when I have the money.

I gamed and worked from home on a crappy chair for a long time. I finally invested in a quality chair and I've noticed a huge difference when it comes to comfort. I would say I regret not doing this sooner but truthfully it wasn't something I could afford at the time. I have that Mavix M9 in the video and love it.

Can the tallest guy in your office recommend a chair for a someone 6'5" 240lb with neck and shoulder pain? I dont care for aggressive lumbar just good neck, shoulder, and elbow support. 4D armrest and at least 20 depth on the seat for sitting cross-legged. The most comfortable backrest I've used is on the Serta Hensley but the armrests are unusable and the seat raises my legs too much. Currently use it with the arms installed upside-down and a clamp on desk elbow rest arm but still find it hard to get comfortable aside from sitting cross legged and never feel like I have enough elbow support and get leg pain.

From your videos Im thinking the Fern no lumbar/headrest with an atlas headrest mod or the Mavix M9 to use with my Uplift Desk.

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Chairs ive tried but didnt like.
Serta Hensley: great back bad arms unergonomic seat.
Steelcase Gesture: Seat too shallow.
Steelcase Leap Plus: Did not lime the back, it dug into my shoulders and found I missed a headrest.
Logitech Embody: Was not blown away, too small for me.
Herman Miller Aeron C: Did not like at all, overrated. Found the plastic on the seat and shoulder area hitting pressure points.

Good to see some boomer takes, but I think locking that recline is pretty amazing. If office chairs can take that in account, then they are catching up for sure.

I think I did permanent damage to my spine by using a cheap "racing chair" for several years. I bought a Dexley from Staples (which I saw a lot of praise for in that price range) a few years ago and it's been much better. When I get more money I'll probably look into something better. Love the videos guys. Very underrated channel

I'd love to see a Embody Gaming vs Digital Knit Fern video, and with a bit more focus on slouching and comfort rather than ergonomics! As I'm chronically ill, I can't go to nearby shops to test out the chairs myself, especially when they often don't have these 2 specific models :(

One sad thing about the Big 3 office chair companies is: 2/3 of them have limited customizability options when it comes to their international online stores.
Haworth e.g.: in their own international online store, you can only buy the Fern in black without the extra lumbar support. There are no color options nor can you add the lumbar support.
Similar story with Steelcase. E.g. the Amia in their german online store available in 9 quickship colors, you can't choose the fabric or frame color.
Of the Big 3 only Herman Miller let's us germans choose what americans can choose.

I came to this same conclusion years ago regarding any product labeled "gaming". In my case it was headphones. Spending $200+ on gaming headphones that never lasted, had no replaceable parts and were generally just inferior to well known audiophile brands. It was well worth and cheaper in the long run to save for a nice pair of headphones. My Sennheiser headphones are going on 12 years old now, can replace the cables, pads etc and just as good as the day I bought them.

just one thing I miss from my old gaming chair is the really deep recline - use case of watching a football game, I want to just lean back as in a sofa which a good (secretlab) gaming chair allows. The Embody just doesn't recline as deep and due to no headrest is not really that great at being able to deep recline while watching something.
