I tried the G7 after using Libre 1 and then Libre 2 CGM's. The G7 are supposed to last for 10 days but after going through a three-month supply in less than 2 months they lasted on average 6 days for me before sensor failure. I loved the continuous readings to my phone and watch but I had a couple fail after one day of use! I'm back with the Libre 2 as the Libre 3 isn't available here in NZ yet but have found it to be reliable and lasts the full 14 days. It's a shame as I loved the features of the G7. I contacted my supplier about the failures but they aren't interested at all.

Hi Justine, Thank you for the video.
I will start my Dexcom G7 sensors in a week. Do you know if there is any advantage in getting the Dexcom receiver? Is the receiver just for folks who don't have a smart device? Thanks.

I got one two days ago. It was wildly inaccurate. My wifevheard the urgent low alarm and panicked that i would die in the middle of the night from hypoglycemia. I was in the middle of a 3 day fast and while dexcom had my glucose below 55 (us) One Touch had it mid 70s. I assumed it was correct. Ecen though it said "danger Will Robinson " i had no sweating, no uncontrollable jitters, no flushing, no mental confusion. But the alarms kept me up alot during the night despite my best efforts to mute or reduce volume.

It is stated in this demonstration that the overpatch is optional. The instructions seem to indicate the overpatch is mandatory.
What is true?

It’s annoying that for those of us that have used G6 and always inserted it on the abdomen that now they don’t even mention insertion on the abdomen. I don’t like to have a medical device visible on my body. I would not have switched to G7 if I knew it had to be exposed on my arm.

You can't warm up the sensor prior to use, it must be inserted beforehand and it does take minimum 28 minutes to warm up before showing your reading.

what a journey we have been on trying to get one for hubs. Sensors not covered under Caremark but transmitter is. After many different devices G 6 G 5 insurance denials that took 4 weeks to get through.. now have to send a new script through a DME company Apria. Apria outsources their diabetic supplies to someone else and they also have a partner to kick it down to. Pharmacist said these types of devices are not really proven yet. We are interested as hubs cannot get enough blood from the fingers for a sample to finger test. Insurance said G7 should be covered. guess we will see in 2-3 weeks. The G7 app was not available in the app store last i checked. these devices are sounding more and more flim flam as we go..

I'm using Freestyle Libre 3. I've been using the first, second and third version. And I'm completely baffled of how bad the software app is. There is no way to automatically store values to Apple health. And there is no way to add a widget, nor to have a widget on the Apple watch to read the values. Now with newer Apple Watch version they added support but not in the way they should. Their software engineers just must have their thumbs stuck in a sore place. I've been complaining and complaining.

The thing is I get the sensors for free, but now on Tuesday I will discuss with my doctor to get another brand. I've seen there is a indian company that has made hardware that uses the freelibre 1 and 2 sensors and works as a man in the middle hack. So that basic software functionality is provided by them.

I will now either get a different sensor from a different company, or start using the thirdparty hardware or hack the freelibre system myself.
I'm already setting up things with a second phone dedicated to librelinkup to create the data I need into Apple Health remotely. I just need to find a way to get a widget showing my glucose values from apple health.

If anyone is interested I could share my Apple shortcuts to read the LibreLinkUp app periodically and save it to apple health.

Why can’t I get Dexcom App to work on my iPhone 14?

I recently switched from G6 to G7 and noticed three issues
1. It disconnects quite frequently though it is in range of 20 ft , never disconnected even if I am away 30ft in G6
2. The values are going up and down in saw tooth pattern rather it used to be smooth before
3. Does it store all samples and transmits when connected after few minutes as we used to wait 15 minutes every time it disconnects
4. Overall I see G6 values are pretty closer to fingersticking than G7 any comments

This was very easy to set up and seems accurate but I hate not being able to walk away from my phone without the alarm going off and I’ve only used two and they’ve both come off days early . The company is sending me another and if it’s ok I’m going to try my stomach. The adhesive they have on it needs to be stickier. The price is $150 per sensor and my insurance pays $100 so that’s $150 out of pocket. Is there any help out there for that? Otherwise I love it, it’s very helpful in tracking the things that affect your blood sugar and knowing where your sugar is!

I have been waiting for the G7 for a couple of years I found out this month that my insurance will cover the sensors but it won’t cover the receiver I don’t have a smart phone or anything like that so I need the receiver and I was also told my old receiver won’t work with the G7 it only works with the G6 I don’t know why they couldn’t make the G6 receiver work with the G7 but apparently my insurance will only cover their receiver every five years and I was only able to get the G6 about three years ago which means I would have to wait two more years wondering if you have any suggestions or a way to try and get a receiver for a good price

So I am beyond mad😡😡😡😡. I so excited for g7 roll out here in the US. Got mine 2 days ago and have not slept yet! Sooo dexcom support just informed me that the g7 doesn't PAIR WITH ANY INSULIN DEVICE 😡😡😡So I'm just responding to my normally great BS around the freaking clock. Is there some logical reason that this isn't even addressed? How mentally stupid is this? So listen to the thing go off just about around the clock and respond to my blood sugar? Are they giving any kind of a time frame or which insulin devise? I'm on the Omnipod and have loved it! Open for suggestions or who to complain to. What devises is it pairing with in Europe?

You said you can start a new sensor with the old one still in place and when the warm-up period is over, you can SWITCH. I'm not sure what that means. Is that the point you enter the sensor number or does it mean that you take the old one off???? Thanks for your help.

I want to say thanks, I am a newly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Your videos have really helped me with understanding of how most of this stuff works. My doctor gave me a trial for the Freestyle Libre3 which I really love but my insurance does not cover it and I cant afford the out of pocket costs for it. However my insurance does cover Dexcom! As long as I can get one of these CGN'S, then Ill be one happy camper!!!! Anyways, thanks for making videos like these and you have definitely earned my LIKE AND SUB!!!!!!!

I just received it yesterday and it wasn't compatible with my son's phone so had to get him another phone. My question is when i set it up after said lost connection but the receiver was ok still working. My question is I uninstalled the app and logged in now says new sensor. If I'm still using the new one that is day 1 it saying new sensor is ok because it was set yesterday.

I called Dexcom about using the abdomen because i have trouble with my hands. They say they have not done enough testing on abdomen application, but if your doctor says it’s okay then you can apply to abdomen. So that’s what I did and it seems like it’s working great. So far I like it! I like the enormous savings in plastic. It seems more accurate than the G6.

Just started G7 - #1 failed within 12 hours (called for replacement) #2 failed after 8 hours (called for replacement) #3 working. Totally wonky readings, constantly needs calibration & is VERY inconsistent with glucometer readings NOT seen with G6, vacillating readings in time periods too short to be believed. Sum total = back to G6

The G6 was supposed to be on abdomen! G7 is much better on the arm. Overpatch should be on so you don’t bump it(loose). 15 min and no calibration is the best feature. A lot more expensive, even with insurance! Features are much better with the G7. Averages glucose level over 3-7-14-21 days.

One thing about the new G7 is that it is not yet compatible the new wireless omnipod 5 so make sure if you have pumps that communicate with g6 that they are also compatible with the g7. That will save you some headaches for sure. Wish I had known that before I got the g7. Plsase warn folks about this.
