How could I use the iPad with the screen off and still work on the monitor? how do I configure it?

I am unable to close my ipad and continue using it on the external monitor. Anyone know why? She closes the ipad and keeps using it on the monitor with it closed but i am unable to do this. I have an external keyboard and mouse and the ipad is getting power while connected to the monitor.

it feels very unsmooth when using the mouse.

I connected my 12.9 ipad to Benq 4K 32” monitor the resolution on the monitor is not sharp nor crisp. It looks mediocre. What am I doing wrong. Is this is normal then it doesn’t make any sense using setup. The same monitor with my m1 mac is crisp and great to work on

My monitor connects to computer with 9 pin male cable. Can I use a female 9pin cable with usb to my ipad 9 gen . I know I will need a usb dock to attach the ipad. What is the best dock for this thank u Phil

What a very mind boggling implementation of hdmi connection. It should be a screen extension with full display on the monitor instead of mirroring(even better, should’ve an option to select extension/mirror display), it should’ve been a simple thing, screen extension has been around for a long time ffs -_-. Instead of giving us a built in desktop mode(just like Samsung Dex), we have to pay for 3rd party apps that’s just not as reliable.
