on my vstrom 650 i run trailmax mission on the front and shinko 705 rear its really stable on gravel road
ОтветитьRiding DL1000 V Stroms since 2002, I found for me the oem tires were the best, Excellent on pavement and very good on the gravel. I won't take. a 500 lb. bike into serious sand or mud
ОтветитьMetzeler tourance vs karoo street whats better for touring?
ОтветитьThe only reason to have Nobbies on the back is if you're in mud
ОтветитьI have years of Enduro riding on the street, put the Nabis on the front,,, if you're off-road guy,,,on the back put the mission!!
ОтветитьThe mission on the back will give you lots of miles and good grip off-road and incredible wear on Road
ОтветитьHey Kyle. How's it going? I came here by recommendation of Big Rocky Moto, Ian's channel. I have a BMW R1200 GS and I do lots of highways and some dirty roads. I was thinking of using the Scorpion Rally STR on the front and the Scorpion Rally on the back. Both tires are widely available in Brazil and at a good price. What do you think? I chose the STR on the front because I do a lot of twisties and I already use it (on both wheels). Thank you!
ОтветитьYou say weight may be important but there is no way to know the weight of each tire!
ОтветитьHow does Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR PERORMED in Rain, Gravel, Sand, Broken roads, Under Rain on Concrete Paved roads? Please share honest review...
ОтветитьThank you for the elucidation. I´ve changed my AT tyres recently and my rear option is on second place of your list :) str rally ,
As for the rubber performance there is a subject that is worth to be mencioned, (rubber density differ on same tyre same brand if the origin of the manufacturer is different.) Like, a same brand and same type of tyre made in Brazil is softer then the one that was made on Hungary. That happened to me when i bought tyres for my car and noticed that one of them was softer then the others. Then i realized that the compuond used on both contries is diferent or that the rubber origin could be important as well. Not sure.
Time for an update? Notably, Trailmax Raid, Karoo 4 (Karoo 3 discontinued), TKC80 is no longer sold stateside.
ОтветитьVery good information but when I decided you are sold out 😢 😊
ОтветитьWhat a fantastic review! Plus you actually tested each tyre. That was very useful. So useful in fact, I subscribed. Thanks for all your hard work. Writing from the uk
Ответитьcant view the result on your website. I'm blocked from PH.
ОтветитьGreat video guys! question, have you also tested Shinko 700 aside from 705? or just the 705?
ОтветитьWhat tires would you recommend on a 2018 Honda NC 750x for 50/50
Ответитьi didnt hear anything about the 606's
ОтветитьIt would have been interesting to have a "Lean Angle" on the 50/50's, some of us like to lean while we are riding on asphalt.
ОтветитьTrailmax Mission. Made in the USA. (Only one that is).
Still kind sux in deep sand/mud, but I'm at 12K miles rear and front and I have 50% of my tread left.
That's 50% freeway getting to 50% off-road.
On a DL1000XAL8.
I honestly worried I'd need a new SW-Motech bash plate before I'd need new tires. I beat the hell out of that poor bike. Thank goodness for aluminum welding rods.
If I manage a V-Strom 800DE, Trialmax Missions are going on it. And I will beat it to hell, too.
I tend to treat 500+ pound motorcycles like a dual sport. A symptom of my insanity.
I need an Inreach before I become a meme of warning for solo rides.
Ok, 50/50 summary: while the whole world loves the k60, you hate it.
ОтветитьWhat a great video.. Thanks for putting this together! Means a lot.
ОтветитьDunlop trail max mission. You are welcome.
ОтветитьPretty strange to even release the test without any wet pavement or mud results.
Aren't those like, the most crucial things? Maybe there's a difference in whether where you and I live but when talking about "adventure" tires you'd have to assume wet pavement safety will be of concern at some point.
You're on a hard-packed dirt road and suddenly go around a corner and its an inch of sand, or you have to drive for miles on a road with 2 inches of fresh gravel (the loosest surface possible). Is a smoother 80/20 tire in those situations really worse than a semi-knobby 50-50? Nothing grabs gravel, right? The front tire is going to move back and forth a few inches every two seconds and make you feel insecure. Is there any solution? Any perfect tire?
Ответитьgreat reviews , watched all your reviews on tires, all of them, i ride a ktm super adventure 1290 and i just cant make up my mind between the tck70 and anakee adventure . i ride twisty fast roads and highways to get to dirt roads and mountain passes, which tire is better for twisty and highways?
ОтветитьYou guys are awesome! Thank you so much! :)
ОтветитьI'm a value guy and my experience has been Shinko 704/705 and 804/805 are just very hard to beat for the price. I like Motoz Tractionator GPS also.
ОтветитьExcellent review and info. Thanks
ОтветитьDatasets are confusing without labels in your write up.
ОтветитьMy knobby choices was all no less than an inch high.
It spoiled me. So, I'm visiting knobby no less than
one half inch high. My ride is temperate rain forest
What a great, comprehensive review! One thing I was looking for on the 50/50 tires was a "noise rating" on pavement - some of these tires howl loud enough to drown out the wind! Video is 3 years old now.... but any comment on this (specifically the Anakee Wild / TK80 / Bridgestone AX41)
ОтветитьBeen running the Dunlop Trailmax mission over 8000 miles or 12000 km 80 on road still only 20% worn. Estimating 24000 miles or 36000km before rear replacement.
Running on 2021 BMW R1250GSA.
Grip on road is fantastic wet or dry. Sand is problematic but off road hold up we'll.
Great video! Thanks for the research. Last summer I ran TKC 70's up to AK on my Triumph Tiger Explorer and switched to Shinko 804/805's in Anchorage to the Dalton and most of the way back to San Diego. The TKC 70's did better than expected in light, loose gravel, but I was happy to have the thick lugged Shinko's on the Dalton where the gravel was thicker and much deeper; the Shinko 804/805s were great, even on wet pavement.
As prep for a run to Cabo, I'm torn on what to run. Serious riders I've talked to love the Trailmaxx Mission but I question them in thick sand, my Shinko's are great with my 560lb+ Triumph fully loaded - with the exception of thick sand, but that could just be me; I'm considering going with a Trailmaxx Mission front and either a TKC70 Rocks rear or a Motoz Tractionator Adventure rear. Any qualified input on what to run to Cabo - with the plenty of off-road detours in mind - would be awesome. Thanks!
hello. I want to ask you what pressures you would use in some pirelli rally str. mounted on a ktm 1290 T. thank you
ОтветитьFantastic job! Thank you 🍻
ОтветитьI'm curious how the mitas e07+ ranks
ОтветитьAwesome and informative video, thank you very much
ОтветитьGo unicorn tires!
ОтветитьHow much did the ax41 weigh?
ОтветитьWhat should I buy for Honda cb500x?
I am interested in 80/20 and 50/50 tires.
I'm looking for tires that aren't too expensive, too heavy and can do more mileage?
Anyone know if you can run the shinko 705 140/80/17 Tube type without a tube?
ОтветитьThanks so much for all the work you put into this
ОтветитьAwesome information. Two thumbs up.
To all the click bait websites out there that give fake ratings with no actual testing, thrrrp!
Would be even better had you used metric measurements like the rest of the civilised world ;)
ОтветитьOutstanding vid!
Ответить2 years later the effort placed in this video earned my subscription,
Ответить1k miles on the Shinko 705s. The front end feels dead, very slow, and heavy. Anyone else have any thoughts/suggestions? They are replacing Dunlop Trailmax Missions on a Tiger 800 xc. Not happy w the Shinko's.
ОтветитьWhat, no Dunlop rally raid 907?
ОтветитьI totally appreciate this review. Thanks for doing all the work. I can now start out on the best setup for me with my new v4 multistrada.
