Inspiring! Im 32 & just decided to start learning the violin, I have a bit of guitar & ukulele under my belt. Its good to see the progress you have undergone. If I may ask, how many hours a day/days a week did you spend practicing?
ОтветитьI am currently training a 11 year old girl, and l find it hard to start training her based on the suzuki Books since she hardly can make good nice sound , instead l trying to train her to be able to play open strings at the different angles and then try to teach her to play with the 1st finger only to play in the first position before proceeding to teach her the suzuki method , any suggestion on my insights
ОтветитьIndeed faster progress , you made ,
ОтветитьGood job
ОтветитьThis is so inspiring! I'm 28 and started learning violin about 4 months ago, I absolutely love it but the frustration is real when you feel like you're not progressing fast enough. Thank you for being an inspiration to adult beginners!
Ответить👏👏👏I played violin when I was 8 and 9 years old, I'm 53 now and don't remember any of it, watching your video has inspired me and I would love to relearn.❤
Ответитьdo you already know how to read notes when you started?
ОтветитьFun fact! The violin was NOT CREATED OR TAUGHT TO CHILDREN until recently in human history. Just like ballet and ice skating.
So, this stupid moronic idea that these are meant and easier for children to learn compared to adults. Really shows people's ignorance and sheep herd mentality does infact make people dumb and incapable of actually learning about the very things they so proudly show on the internet!
Maybe learn they history of an instrument BEFORE saying such stupid things like.... "It is harder for an Adult compared to a child." (Not the exact words. But the exact SAME meaning.).
Thanks for the video. I'm 65 and I'm starting violin this fall. I don't expect to make fast progress, but I'm not in a hurry.
Ответитьgreat improvement.
can anyone tell me what is name of the track she was playing in month 11 ?
Hi Cassie, I learned the violin ( self taught) at 20, and I became a professional violin player (but more traditional music, Irish, Scottish, american old time and folk rock)
I think that for someone who did not have any musical background you did incredibly well. Most people kids or adults can’t play like this after one year. When I started the violin, I had years of piano, guitar, drums behind me.
One thing struck me though, your violin sounds like a very bad one and it’s a shame. After a year of progress like this one you deserve something better.
I was lucky I had an old German violin that my dad found through his work, this is actually what pushed me to learn.
These days you can find something decent for not much money if you take some time. If you think you found one you like, bring a violinist friend to try it for you, violins sound different a few meters away, in other hands.
Congrats for your learning .
Thank you for this. My 67 year old self is going for it. Got a used violin from a music teacher and she said don't be intimidated. Thank you again for your video and I hope that both you and I can achieve what we want to musically. Rock on
ОтветитьIs anyone self taught here?
ОтветитьChanced upon this video and thank you for making this video that inspired me. I just started learning violin few months ago and I'm close to 50, which is really not easy especially the fingers are not as flexible as I wanted them to be. I'm on my 4th month and definitely have a long long way to go. 😊
ОтветитьLove your positivity, I believe you will get there to what ever level you desire. I have a tiny bit of musical knowledge, guitar, piano and harmonica, but have always wanted to learn how to play violin so at age 66 now is the time...lol I'm just wondering if I should earn my neighbors now or let them figure it out...😅
Ответитьsounded awful the whole way through, im good ill just do ukelele instead
ОтветитьThat’s really good thank you for sharing realistic progress. I feel the same way learning guitar but it’s cool looking back at old vids and seeing the progress between months. Looking at learning violin soon and found this very inspirational
Ответить37 yrs old and enjoyed watching the progress. I played a little bit in elementary school, but hated the practicing. Since my mom passed away in March, she had 2 violins. I took one and my sister took the other one. She plays more advanced than me, but I get my mom's violin out of the shop next week and start lessons in August! Hopefully, i can play just as good as mom did. We'll see. lol.
ОтветитьKeep up the good work! Never give up! For me, today is day 3 on violin after 68 years on trombone.
ОтветитьYes, you should be proud!
ОтветитьSo cute and Beautiful and very commandable! However, a great teacher or a good violin instructor would have advanced you 3 or 4 times greater, nonetheless... Bravo!!! Fun and Magical to watch the progress!!! Bravo for your endurance!!! Keep going!!! Thete is always more grow and to learn, for all of us:-)
Ответитьi have played the violin for five years and i am 12 years old and i play handel
ОтветитьHow long did you practice plying a violin in a day for a year?
ОтветитьBrava! ☺
ОтветитьSooo good! Congratulations❤!
ОтветитьSo i strongly believe you went via the "Suzuki method". At least you play the same melodies i did when i was a beginner.
And i must say, unless you have played other instruments before, the level you have at 3 days, most dont have after 1 year.
You did amazing it's such a hard instrument
Ответитьc'est très bon
ОтветитьMa cosa credete di essere ,sembrate le monachelle del torte! chapet lokarie!
ОтветитьWhoa ....am so inspired..... similarly aged ...am trying to start
ОтветитьSuper!
ОтветитьSounds like you're using the same training books I'm using. Kinda wish I'd done this from beginning. I'm 38 now and about 9 months since i started.
Ответитьyawa lisodi
ОтветитьHello Casey, I am 36 years old. I learn violin for 6 months ago. Glad foe your progress
ОтветитьIt takes time to learn. I started guitar yrs ago got there to basically learning the board and then things happend, had to move and have not touched it in yrs. I do miss it though.
Ответитьgood job
ОтветитьCool 🥺
ОтветитьThanks for uploading your video. A lot if these videos over the internet are not really one year progresses. Yours is honest and a great progress.❤😊
Ответитьperpetual motion is fire.
Ответитьcan you teach me
ОтветитьHow often did you practice?? This was inspiring!
ОтветитьCongratulations, and inspirational! I just posted my one year on banjo starting at 56 years young. Your video is really well done. Keep on keepin on!
ОтветитьI know this video is 2 years old, but it caught my eye because I was in the same boat. Nothing musical since recorder in 5th grade, but I am an old dude (late 40s!). I told myself no for several years -- too expensive, too much time, bla bla bla. Finally decided to stop saying no and do it. I enjoyed watching your 1yr journey as a lot of it is familiar to me, having been taking lessons for almost 5 months now. I have a recital planned for about a month from now, where I will play in a trio with my kids (viola and bass, having been doing it in school for several years each -- far ahead of me). My teacher said I am ready so I will trust him, but it is scary to think about. Anyway, great video. It seems authentic, unlike some others where the person goes from zero to maestro in a year. I will look for any annual follow-ups that you may have made since this one.
ОтветитьReally inspiring as someone who just started playing 2 months ago at age 43. Watching you play reminds me that there is real value in the journey regardless of where you are at any given moment in that journey.
ОтветитьMorrison’s jig sounds 👍🏽)
ОтветитьKeep going young lady! Wishing you a melodious future!
ОтветитьFocusing only on progress without building a solid foundation in the fundamentals and neglecting proper posture in violin playing can result in poor intonation and tone quality. It's common for adult learners to struggle with basic techniques like posture when learning a musical instrument such as the violin. However, your commitment to consistent practice is commendable, and I have faith that your violin playing will improve over time.
