Here is the rub, I like all humans, was born of my mother. However, growing up in a colony of the British empire, yet with the fortune of a religious tradition from Arabia but with English as my primary language, meant that I would always approach my understanding of the material world with a highly critical eye. The irony is that,..the Arabs armed not with swords but with the ability to have a muti_focused approach to knowledge, handed over the remnants[what was not destroyed by the Church to the West...and promptly went back to the days of ignorance. Yet,it was my teacher born in Israel, who gave me the key to use Socratic reasoning in rationalising my faith, and while I have just about no friends or family left who think I am somewhat sane, I am getting closer to finally understand me!

He should have "known" nothing is absolute and always. Say you know nothing makes you childish. Too much humility a bad choice.

I wish the local gov. library page folks learned this during their orientation. Such biases, such crookedness.
You wanna know how they displayed books on two former Presidents today? A positive projection for one, and a totally negative and degrading book on display for the other. Since we, the people are the owners of the book, and their salaries too, some help from the citizen's side erased the Bias.
Yucky pseudo-Leftism.

Don't forget that the jury size was a whopping 501! Meanwhile, Diogenes would go around being rude and vulgar as if that itself was his philosophy; Socrates might be declared an enemy of the state today too, ha.

Great video despite the fact of being “Eurocentric “. When Rome fell the whole world did NOT go into darkness. Other civilizations were still developing their own systems of thought like Arab-Muslim civilization. They preserved the Greek philosophy after translating it into Arabic and added to it.
Do the names of Ibn Rushd ( Averroes) and Avicenna ring a bell ?

Are there any TRUE thinkers here? It is IMPOSSIBLE for water to curve. Water ALWAYS seeks its level. Being a critical thinker means asking questions and what they have taught us are LIES. We've been deceived on MANY, MANY levels because no one thinks for themselves anymore. The previous thought mentioned is only the beginning of the deceptions. " ...I can only make them think." Socrates

Almost everything you 'know' has been told to you by someone else, and then you believe it. Then you find it difficult to change how you think about something because you accepted it without fact. You simply belive it to be true. Belief requires no evidence.

How would Socrates feel about censorship in modern academia, journalism, and social media ? These people believe their every edict is “ settled science “ and demand civilization wide submission. Are these people wise? Or perhaps they are like the politicians and philosophers that Socrates criticized in his time. They think they know. But do they?

But if this graphic says about Socrates saying to the so-called wise people less bright it does feel a bit odd. If it was more compared to Platos and Socrates I don't really understand. Just by googling they were more about 'knowing you know nothing' and this is just the surface/motive/general or cognitive thought. This shows more about pure knowledge, inwards knowledge can be really valuable for one.

But if this is more compared to maybe the Greek mythology, I would understand it better. (With how Zeus has the say in it all). I am actually merrly questioning the video messaging, School of life actually has a great article about him! Without the 1st person storytelling, if you would rather.
