FUNimation is Dead. So, What's Next...?

I would definitely uy physical copies of anime and mangas. For mangas I wish they were sold in bundles with a small discount and blue rays the prices are too much

if japan's economy is going down, then evry industry is going down. And Japanese themselfs will manage somehow, everyone of them draws, many have talent, even without money and capitalicm involved they would still enjoy each others art by barter or a still to be born tradition or cultural phenomena of some kind.

Honestly, Crunchyroll looked like it will be something which will takeover and improve anime streaming for everybody, but it turns out that it is a far worse service than Funimation. Subs and dubs, present with funimation, are missing and more and more of anime is leaving " The Worlds Greatest Library " of Crunchyroll, probably as we speak, since I've read it officially on their platform, so what are doing here ??? Honestly I've started with piracy and I am seriously thinking of going back to other means of streaming.

I am very upset.I am a big fan of one piece and funimation had all the latest episodes in English?. Country Wolf sucks, they do not have new episodes or the latest episodes of one piece or any other show..

It doesnt help when legit sites are blocked or have restricted content because one lives in Europe. Funimation for example never worked for me in Europe, highdive is super limited in content, crunchyroll has the most access to content even though its limited. In the end majority of europe is going to pirate anime, simply because of restrictions by providers.

I still haven't forgiven Clownchyroll for ending Princess Connect Re: Dive. This is only putting oil on the fire at this point so screw Clownchyroll, imma keep doing me, thank you.

The anime that I used to watch, that I want to watch, is no longer available anywhere in my region. It’s not a matter of “There’s an option for one or the other”… it’s now “There’s zero option but piracy”.

Buy blu ray's and dvd's. Streaming is a waste of money.

The big question is: going forward in terms of Crunchyroll's bluray releases, will they be using the unfinished simulcast masters or will they keep using the Japanese bluray masters?

Funimation user since 2013 and today it finally sunset on April 2nd, 2024. I was able to get my shows, queue to be migrated and canceled the Funimation subscription before the website was shutting down. All apps on my end from iOS to gaming consoles are disabled/no longer work. However, one of my several streaming device is still working and accessing Funimation as I write this….For now.

Edit: actually they just shut down my last device, which is an Amazon Fire Stick lol. 😭🫡

Seriously.... Crunchyroll has sucked forever. I used to love it for the wide variety of anime. But what's the point of paying monthly for the 2nd or 3rd season of a show I haven't seen... UNABLE to watch the 1st season.... I'm done. I'm done with Sony, I'm done with CR. Samsung has always been superior anyways.

Businesses have a duty to treat people with respect, otherwise people will screw them other. Crunchyroll is not a legitimate business, it is simply a thief, the latest in a long line of new thieves.

One thing that Funimation knew how to do was how to market anime in the states. Crunchyroll has no idea how to market itself beyond whatever seasonal anime is hot. It’s like Netflix taking over distribution of FX or HBO shows.

Digital is not the future....if this doesnt make it clear then i dont know what does.

Funimation isn't dead. It was simply bought by Crunchyroll. All the same anime and employees are just going to be working for Crunchyroll.

Funimation spearheaded a lot of the industry to where it is today but they were by no means a saint... they were the reason why there were so many low quality dubs in the international scene. They were more like the McDonalds of anime dubbing. Imma b honest im glad they're gone.
