Interesting/informative/entertaining. Area looks 👀 to be clean/sanitary & well kept-!!!🤗. I wonder why that is-???🤔.
ОтветитьI used to visit SF chinatown with my parents back in the 70s-90s and the streets were packed with people. It seems very sparse compared to what it was like. I have moved away and have not been back in many years. I saw images of Fishermen's wharf and it was deserted. What a sad sight.
ОтветитьLast time I was here, Banksy had just done a piece.
Ответитьthe entire chinatown can be merged into one supermarket & would probably function better...
ОтветитьIt's almost as if some leftist in an NGO planned destruction of this leftist city or a leftist in city government said it's not ok to camp here and smoke drugs and scream at the sky. Strange, very very strange. If you were way past stupid you might not even get what was going on here.
ОтветитьQuem veio aqui depois da série "Warrior " ?
Ответитьahhh lai lah lai lah, story of COVID
ОтветитьThis video is so great! Bay Area residents here and have been to Chinatown many times, but never to Stockton Stree area or the Sun Yat-Sen statue in St.Mary's park and the Bruce Lee hospital..but we went last weekend cause of your video!! and saw all these "new" places!! Thanks for this video! 😊
ОтветитьJust remember what ol’ Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol’ storm right square in the eye and he says, “Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it.
ОтветитьIt was nice to see Chinatown again. As an Irish catholic I remember taking my mum to Chinatown one year and we went into Saint Mary’s. somewhat sentimental but comforting to see again as sadly my mum passed this year.
ОтветитьThank You For Sharing ❤
ОтветитьThank you for the tour. It has been awhile since I was there. Wish I can visit again but the crimes and drugs issues plus shootings is not a place that I am brave enough to visit anymore. :(
ОтветитьI grew up in the city and later lived 45 minutes from SF and visited Chinatown many times. I am glad to see that many stores and restaurants are still open. The last time I visited, I had the most wonderful meal but I just can't remember where. For sure, I will visit this summer. Too many nice memories.
ОтветитьAmazing Golden Gaye Cookie Co. I’m a native of the bay area never been in this store. The classic fortune cookie!
ОтветитьWow the great China Town. I live here now but has Ben in the Bay Area since 1961. I am from a military Asian family
ОтветитьDelicious Dim Sum on Jackson n Stockton is by far the best Dim I’ve ever had !!
ОтветитьOne of the best videos of California China Town I have seen . Many thanks.
ОтветитьKen, thank you for doing this walk around. It's been over 35 years since I've been to SF Chinatown. Glad to see that the place hasn't change much. Nice to see that Eastern Bakery, GG Fortune Cookie Co., are still operating and I recognized many of the shops there. Only the cars and maybe the clothes people are wearing have changed. Xièxiè
ОтветитьGreat walkthough tour video!! Where would you suggest to park a car for tourists coming to visit China Town. I hear so many crimes with break-ins and whatnot in SF. Thanks!
ОтветитьFairly good video by someone who isn't from here. It is Grant AVE, Stockton STREET. We only have one hospital. Golden Gate Bakery has been closed since covid. Why risk it when they didn't need to financially stay open. They own the building but lots of fans, especially people outside miss and want to try their egg tarts. Please come back. Maybe film eating at one of the restaurants or buying some pastries. Portsmouth is much more popular than St Mary's. It's easier on the ears to drop the h when saying toishan. We say toisan in Cantonese. In toisan dialect, it sounds more guttural, hoiszaan?
ОтветитьThank you for the extensive equipment list - if only more content makers shared that information the world would be a better place 🙂
ОтветитьAt least they clean up now rhe city
Ответитьnot the real chinatown now
ОтветитьI lived in Chinatown for almost 20 years from the early 80's to the early 2000's. Loved your video. Brought back so many memories. Thanks for that.
ОтветитьMost videos i see are shitting on San Francisco. I love it here tho. This video makes me proud to live here in this amazing city.
ОтветитьYeah tioshanese and zhongshanese is my parents ancestry
ОтветитьCalifornia should have 2 governors. One for northern Cali and one for southern Cali. Gavin seems overwhelmed, like he needs a little help. 😂😂😂
ОтветитьThank you for the great video recording of San Francisco. 谢谢你,加油。❤❤❤
ОтветитьThanks for the video, along with the history lesson. 175 years Chinatown has been in San Francisco. That's means that Chinatown is as old as the city of San Francisco. The non-tourist part seems to be doing well, but the tourist part could use more people traffic.
ОтветитьLove your videos. Keep up the awesome work that you are doing. Very entertaining and informative.
Ответитьwatching from san diego. it has been awhile since i visited SF. so sad to see SF declining. great video, thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьThanks for the video. Having grown up in SF and attended Galileo HS in the 70-80's, this video makes me feel nostalgic for what Chinatown was like in the past. You stated that the video was made on May 23rd, 2023, at 11 am, which is on a Tuesday. 40 years ago, if you stood on the corner of Pacific and Grant Street or Pacific and Stockton, it would have been people-mountain-people-sea [人山人海], even on a weekday. Every shop was open for business and packed with locals and tourists. Chinatown then was just magical!
ОтветитьI've been there before
ОтветитьPropaganda.
ОтветитьGreat job. Love SF with a passion.
ОтветитьKid this is an amazing place and your home. You belong here.
ОтветитьI have a granddaughter that's very photogenic. I want to shoot some vids with her her in Chinatown.
ОтветитьAny Opium Dens remaining?
ОтветитьCalifornia Street is one of the great boulevards on the planet. Back in the day I worked at 100 California St, the bottom of this photo. It was a blast.
ОтветитьWhat I'm seeing is a gorgeous city. And the Maggots are no where to be seen. Praise Jesus.
ОтветитьGreat work, Kid. Glad you did not get trapped in Miami.
ОтветитьMore than 13 years now that I don't go back to sf now I live in London uk I want to go back
ОтветитьThe better time to video this place may be from noon time to the afternoon when people when people are out to lunch and shopping afterwards.
ОтветитьomG....bruce lee was NOT born in SF....!!!
ОтветитьNice, would love to spend the weekend to shop, eat 😊
Thanks for sharing
Seems like a lot of elderly there Windows above the building, are those apartments?
Seems quiet, calm
I remember going to Chinatown when i was a kid. They has awesome pastries there!!!! I so miss California.
ОтветитьBack then San Francisco is beautiful and safe city and now? Fucking damn expensive, crime, homeless, cop is very aggressive. Don’t know how you survive. Between great video and stay safe from this dangerous and expensive city of all
